Chapter 12
I fell forward and let go and braced myself as I hit the ground. I heard Henri and Jeremiah behind me and knew that we had survived. The palace was gone and instead we had appeared in a large field of sunflowers. The sun shone brightly and the sky had not a cloud in it.
Jeremiah recovered first and rushed over to me. “What have you done?”
“I have brought us to where we need to be.”
“How selfish can you be to take Henri from his family and then come here?” He quickly turned around to see if anyone watched us. “We must go back before it is too late. There is still time.”
Beside us Henri appeared to be unconscious. I crawled over to him and saw that he was breathing normally and appeared fine.
