Chapter 14 Phoebe had lost count of the days that they had traveled on the road, heading back East. She walked back to the wagons with a bucket of water from the creek that they had camped near and heard the other children playing. She saw Henri off to the side, sitting against a tree whittling away at a stick with a knife.
