CHAPTER FIVE: Expelled

1107 Words
I wasn't myself after we left Mrs Smith’s office, she called my mum, I don’t know the kind of scene she’s gonna create here. “Ariana Carters” I heard my name through the speaker “Come to my office.” I turned to Crystal’s desk but she wasn’t there. I stood up and left for her office. I entered the office, mum and another woman sat facing each other with Crystal behind the woman. It seems that’s her mum “What have I done to get such a crazy girl as my child” I heard mum muttered “Crystal, come over here” Mrs Smith ordered and she did just that “Ariana, do the same” We both stood in front of our mothers, I couldn’t look at my mum nor Mrs Smith, or even Crystal’s mum “How dare you lay your miserable hands on my daughter?” Mrs Torillo yelled at me and slapped me “Ariana… you’re a curse to everyone’s life” mum yelled and slapped me again “Mum! I didn’t do that to her” I told her “Crystal’s…” My hand was on my cheek “Shut up Ariana” she yelled keeping me shut “She can’t go free for what she did to my baby” Mrs Torillo said to the principal “We’ll make sure she gets punished” Mrs Smith said “Are you okay Crystal” my mum said calmly with both love and affection. She walked to Crystal and caress her face “Don’t touch me with those flity hands of yours” said Crystal pushing her hands away “Punishment’s not enough, they aren’t suppose to be people like this in this school. She should be expelled” Mrs Torillo words came like a fuel mixed with gas into a small flame of fire “Expelled?” I blusted out in shock, I could see the smile and happiness in Crystal’s face “It hasn’t gotten to that mum, I can forgive her” she said purely “Take a look at my Crystal, she is pleading for the person that harmed her” Mrs Torillo said oblivious of her daughter’s true behaviour “Ara, if you get expelled from this school, I don’t want to ever see you again” mum fired I couldn’t stand it anymore, I ran out of the Staff office not answering no matter how loud they call my name. Running out to go where in particular, all I know was that I needed somewhere private, needed some time alone to think. Tears rolled down my eyes, once I stopped, I looked around, I was far away, I went to the bridge at the back of the school without even knowing. It seems no one has been here for a long time. I sat there watching the water flow freely as tears roll freely down my cheek. You’re a curse to everyone’s life mum’s words kept on ringing in my ears Mrs Torillo’s voice kept on ringing too “She can’t go free for what she did to my baby” it became faster and unbearable “Are you okay Crystal” I couldn’t hold it any longer! “Aaghh……” I screamed not because of fear but to calm myself down. I don’t actually blame Mrs Torillo for what she said and did, she’s just oblivious. I could see and feel the way she loves Crystal. All of sudden I felt jealous of her for having a mum who loves her. Mine has always been different, my mum doesn’t love nor care about me instead she sees me as a curse and mistake that has been added to her, I’m my mum’s burden “Ariana” I heard my name from a familiar voice and I turned trying to wipe the tears from my eyes “Are you okay?” he asked but I didn’t respond, I looked at the running water “Is it because of what happen between you and Crystal?” he asked “I didn’t do anything wrong, she’s lying against me. Tears rolled down my cheek. “I believe you,” Kuc said. “Why?” I asked, turning to face him. “I mean, no one believes me.” “I might not know who you truly are, or what you can and cannot do, but I’ve known Crystal from elementary school. I know what she can and cannot do — she’s a crazy girl. She’ll hurt herself just to get her way,” Kuc explained. “You’re the only one who believes me. Thanks again.” “Is that the only reason you’re crying, or is something else bothering you?” he asked. “I’m getting expelled and…” “And what?” “My…” I paused. “You’re the first person I’m going to tell this. Please don’t tell anyone else. Promise me you won’t.” “I promise,” he said with keen interest. “My mum hates me. She thinks I’m a curse and a burden to everyone’s life,” I told him, and he smiled. “You should consider yourself lucky that you have your mum at your side, and every step since you were a kid,” he said in a low, husky voice. “Meaning?” “My mum abandoned me with my dad while I was still a baby,” he said sadly. “I’m so sorry, I brought back the past,” I apologized. “No… you don’t have to be. I’m already used to it.” “It must’ve hurt.” “It did… that was a long time ago. You’re actually lucky — so many people would like to have a life like yours,” he said. “Thanks.” “Come here,” he said, pulling me into a hug. *** ZAYN’s POV “What’re you gonna do about that sexy b***h?” Derrick asked me “She’s just a pain in the neck,” I said, and continued working. “How does she look?” “Why the sudden questions?” I returned a question with a question. “Just asking.” “She’s ravishing,” I replied, that was something I could not lie. She’s beautiful in a sinful way “Just that?” the way Ricky looked at me, I knew he was interested in her “What else do you want to know?” “Don’t we make a perfect couple?” “You can do whatever you want with her, but she shouldn’t overstep her boundaries,” he warned.
