DEREK:
‘She’s not my mate,’ I counter. ‘Or at least I don’t think she is. The thing is, there is no way I can have anything to do with her. Don’t forget she’s human.’
‘And that makes sense to you?’
I deliberate on that for a second or two before asking, ‘What?’
‘What you just said... does it make sense to you? What does her identity have to do with this? If she is your mate, which she is actually, why should you bother about her being human?’
‘There was a rule given at the alpha academy...’
Stiles interrupts before I could finish up with my statement, ‘That anyone from the alpha family should never have anything to do with the humans, blah blah blah. Yeah, I do recall the rule. But why must it apply to you when you already feel the bond with her?’
I stay quiet after that question. T
