Swiftly, I take my hand off his. Whatever that was that I felt just now, I don’t think it was any good. It was almost as if a current from him had been passed into me. Felt really strange.
I saw the look of surprise flash on his face as I awkwardly help myself up from the stairway. Guess I should never have taken his offer.
Now that I’m up, I have nothing to say to him. That little encounter has suddenly turned the whole atmosphere between us awkward. I can hardly even look him in the eye but it seems he still has his composure intact because I feel his gaze on him.
Eventually, I bring myself to say, “I guess I’ll be going inside now.” And I say that while looking at him in the eyes. Only lasted for a few seconds before I shift my gaze to the doorway.
