Lorien POV Riven lifted the glass to his mouth, but before he could take a sip, Auren released a low, territorial growl. “You have quite a few admirers eager to meet you… and dance with you,” Riven said smoothly. “May I claim the first dance?” He angled his body, hand extended toward me in invitation. My fingers curled tighter around Auren’s. “I believe that honor belongs to me,” Auren cut in, voice polite but edged with something sharper. “Perhaps I’ll allow you a dance later if my mate and I feel generous. But tonight, she begins with me.” Riven’s smile faltered. I pretended not to notice, though guilt still pricked beneath my ribs. “We’ll be ending the night together as well,” Auren added, and just like that, the butterflies that had been tormenting me since arrival fluttered back
