Chapter Twenty Seven: AscensionAfter Gerard had pulled together enough power to break four of the antagonists' weapons, Freemonte felt he might have a fighting chance at bring them down. Reduced to a short sword a piece, they were easy enough to keep at bay by Freemonte's superior sword work. However, whilst he exerted all his efforts in defence, he was unlikely to be able to attack either one successfully.
