The next three days were torture. Tara avoided Jaden as much as humanly possible.
She arrives early and leaves late. Communicated mostly through emails.
Whenever he called her into his office, she made the meetings as brief as possible.
Because every time she looked at him, she remembered the conversation.
And the determination in his voice when he said he wasn’t walking away from his son.
That sentence haunted her and knew he meant it. And somehow, that scared her more than if he didn’t.
