Becoming King and Queen part 2

Erin’s POV

John lost so much blood that they rushed him to the hospital. They wouldn’t let me go with him. I had a duty to my people to be strong while my king and mate was out of commission. My uncle told me to go clean myself up and get ready for the ball because the show must go on. When I got to my room I grabbed the green dress and changed while fixing my make up to match it. There was blood all over the blue one from me holding John before they took him from me.

As I made my way into the ballroom the crowd started cheering. I was so thankful for them giving me the warmest welcome as queen. I missed my mom and dad and wish they could have been here today. As I was making my rounds I met a couple of Alphas and their lunas. One alpha’s name was Mason and he was from the lunar pack in North Carolina. His luna’s name was Shannon. She was a shy woman and didn’t say much.

A few minutes later a familiar face comes in to view. “Steven long time no see. How are you my friend?” He looks at me with a sad smile and I can’t help but think of what might be wrong. “I’m great still looking for my Luna though.” I look and shake my head. Steven is two years younger than John and I so it makes since that he’s still looking.

As Steven and are catching up Cassie comes walking over. I’m guessing she saw Steven and wanted to say hey. When they lock eyes with each other they didn’t say anything until. “MINE!!” Steven grabbed Cassie and kissed her hard and passionately. I clear my throat and they stop sucking face.

“Steven congratulations on finding your Luna I wasn’t expecting it to be my new brother in-law. Cassie your going to be a Luna. You are growing up so fast your brother would be thrilled if he was here right now.” She just smiles at me and thanks me. She knows I’m hurting right now cause her brother is in the hospital. “Erin thank you for being such a good friend. I will cherish Cassie forever and love her unconditionally for the rest of my life.” I look at Steven and know he’s telling the truth. “You better protect her with your life.” That’s all I had to say.

After a few more hours of dancing with some of the alphas and making introductions I was starting to get tired. I looked at the click on the wall and it said midnight. I walked over to my Aunt and uncle who had Liam dancing between them. “Can I take my son to see his dad before we head to bed since it’s past his bedtime?” My uncle hands me Liam. “Sure thing my dear I’ll wrap everything up here so don’t worry about anything. Good night my beautiful niece, I love you and we will see you for breakfast.” I hug my uncle before heading to see John.

When Liam and I get to John’s room I see he is hooked up to so many monitors. Liam starts reaching for his dad so I put him on the bed. He crawls up to lay on John’s chest. Seeing them together make me smile. I sit in the chair beside the bed and hold John’s hand. “Hey baby, I don’t know if you can hear me but I have so big news to tell you. Steven and Cassie are mates. They found out at the ball tonight. I met some really nice Alphas. They said they would protect the kingdom as well as they could until you get better. I miss you already. It was hard out there tonight not having you beside me. I love you baby.” I kissed his head and laid mine right beside him on the bed.

I must’ve fallen asleep because what woke me up was a hand running through my hair. I look up and see John looking down at me with so much love in his eyes. Liam is still laying on his chest asleep. “How long have you been awake?” “It’s 8 now I woke up at 6 so about two hours. I noticed Liam laying my chest before I opened my eyes then I saw you laying your head beside me.” I smile and lean up to kiss him. “Did you here what I said last night when I came in?” He looks at me and grins.

“Yes I did and I’d like to talk to my new brother in-law before they leave for his pack.” I shake my head and mind link Steven. Being queen has its perks. *The king would like to speak to you. Hospital room 318. Bring Cassie with you and hurry up.*

*Yes my queen heading that way now.* I look at John and smile. “Steven and Cassie will be here in a few minutes.” As I get up to stretch Steven and Cassie walk in with big smiles on their face. “Steven if you hurt my baby sister I will kick your ass do you understand me?” John says with a big grin on his face. “Yes I understand and I would never hurt her. I already love her to much.
