"Roisiiiiin!"
It is dead of the night and all that can be heard is the loud shriek from a little boy who is looking out at the night sky. And I saw myself just standing and watching him. I could not move my body to comfort him. I just stood still.
"Roisiiiiin! Roisiiiin! Roisiiiin"
Tears stream down my face as I watched him sobbing hard. I can feel his distress, his pain. But all I could do is watch.
"I am gonna find you Roisin! Please wait for kuya."
An ear-splitting sound filled my ears that woke me up. It was my alarm. I turned it off and stared at the ceiling.
"Who was that little boy?" I whispered and I felt something wet on my face. I touched it and I realized it is filled with tears.
"I'm such a softie," I said to myself and wiped the tears in my face. I got up to get ready for school.

"What's up, Keirra girl?" Maeve greeted as soon as she entered the classroom. Her voice was loud so our classmates looked at her and she just give them her sorry smile.
"Good morning, Maeve. Why are you so hyped up?" I greeted back.
"I'm always like this, girl. You should get used to it," she winked at me that made me chuckle.
"Hey, I didn't know your brother and his friend group can sing pretty well."
"Oh yes. I forgot to tell you that part. They have a band," I nodded because duh? I already watched them play. "They are playing ever since they got into middle school," she continued.
"Why? Have you watched them already?" she asks and her smile is playful.
"Don't give me that smile. And yes, I did. I'm part-timing in this particular resto-bar and they happened to perform there, too." I explained.
"Yeah, they perform there. Last time, it was a different bar."
"Oooh. Speaking of, they have a rehearsal this coming weekend at our house. Do you wanna come over to watch?" she gave me a hopeful smile but I didn't have the chance to answer because our teacher already came in.
"Later," she mouthed and I shook my head. I have work on the weekends so I think I have to turn down her offer.
"Class dismissed." The bell rang. Maeve and I headed to to the school's cafeteria to have lunch. We ordered our food and sat in an unoccupied table.
Leianara caught my attention. She is on the other table with her girl friends. She is probably fine now. I was still gazing when a man neared their table. It was Raphael.
"What's the thing between Raphael and Leianara?"
"What?" answered Maeve in between her munching.
"Raphael and Leianara?"
"Oh. They said they're best friends. Though it's obvious Raphael likes Lei. The girl is oblivious, though. She likes Isaac. In fact, she became one of his flings back then." She shrugged.
"How do you know anything about this?" I asked curiously. "I thought you were new too?" I wiped my mouth with the table napkin and eyed her.
"I transferred last year so I know some things already," she shrugged.
"How come you don't have any friends? You said you're shy – afraid to go here alone."
"Hey, that's offensive." She threw a table napkin towards me. I chuckled. "They don't want to be friends with me. I don't know why," she pouted. I raised my brow.
"How come? You're Raven's sister, right? And he's pretty popular." I exclaimed and she shushed me.
"They don't know about that. And besides, I doesn't work like that. Well, not for me. I don't like that they are just befriending me because my brother is popular. Or they want to get close to my brother." She wiped her mouth and set aside her tray. "Are you?" she squinted her eyes at me. I rolled my eyes at her.
"Do I look like I care about your brother and his hive?" I crossed my arms.
"It's okay, girl." She smiled. "Hey, I remembered. Do you want to come over this weekend?" oh, crap.
"Uh, I have work on weekends, Maeve." I smiled apologetically.
"Oh. Alright, I'll go to your work then." she giggled. I face palm, mentally.
"Are you sure? You'll get bored."
"I don't get bored in a bar," she snorted.
"Oh I have different work on the weekends. It's in a cafeteria owned by a relative. But yeah, every night I work in the resto-bar." I explained.
"You are so hardworking, I envy you."
"Stop it." I snorted. We are both done eating so we decided to go to our next class so we won't be late.

"Are you sure you're coming to the bar?" I asked Maeve for the nth time.
"Duh," she rolled her eyes. This girl.
"You'll wait for me? I still have to chores to do in the library."
"Wow, girl. You've got so many works." I shrugged. "I get bored in libraries, Ke. I'll head home first, then text me when you are on your way to the bar. I'll just go there."
"Alright. I'll go now."
"Bye, Keirra girl!" she waved her hand as she ran.
"Bye Maeve!" I also waved my hand at her. I started walking towards the library and when I got there, only a few students were on the tables studying and reading. Libraries are really schools' most abandoned place. What a shame.
I saw a familiar person again. He was here the last time. And he's still here.
I approached the librarian and she gave me the tasks. I started immediately.
I was in a shelf arranging books near the guy's table. He is alone on the long table, reading. I squinted my eyes to see the title of the book. It's familiar to me.
"A Court of Wings and Ruin," I read the title. I tilted my head and then my eyes widened. Oh my God! It's my favorite series! I am now fighting the urge to not come near. But I guess I'm weak. I approached him.
"Hi," I started and I am smiling widely. I'm so excited for the book. It is my most favorite book in the series. And someone is reading it!
He looked up to me and for a minute I was lost on his baby blue eyes. He is the guy who went to our classroom in the first day of classes. I got back to my senses as he arched his brow. Asking what I wanted from him. I'm so stupid.
"What are you reading?" Stupid girl!
He didn't say anything as he showed me the book's cover to let me read the title.
"A Court of Wings and Ruin. Have you read the other two books before that?"
"Of course." He really looked like he don't want to talk to me. But I'm persistent.
"It's good, isn't it?" I giggled. "Who's your favorite?"
"Azriel"
"The shadowsinger, wow. Yeah I like him, too. But my most favorite is Rhysand." I can't help but to giggle again. But he just looked at me then went back to reading.
"You sure you don't wanna talk?" He didn't answer.
"Alright. I'll just see you tomorrow, then." I turned my back at him at started walking towards the other shelf.
"Have you read all the books in the series?"
