A beautiful breeze lifted a caped figures hair from under their cloak, looking around at the May flowers they smile and discretely head towards the small run-down building. As the caped figure entered the tea shop called Narcissa’s Tea, a short woman came out from the back. Smiling with a twinkle in her big brown doe eyes she hugged them, “It has been too long. Come sit with me while I prepare you some tea.” Pulling away the figure drops their hood and smiles at her friend.
“I have missed you very much Alita. I was hoping that you could attend the next peace treaty festival to represent the witches and join the peace treaty pact. I know you are not with a coven, but the other covens are starting to feel the strain of the surrounding hunters and I still do not understand why they refuse to join the peace treaty pact.” A smile graced their lips as they watched Alita work on the perfect mixture of tea. She was a short woman but had long straight hair. It was a beautiful reddish brown that fell to her butt and framed her plump cheeks well. She was curvy and had a small waist and torso. She looked like a tiny doll with her soft features, button nose, and pale skin.
Alita froze at her friends’ words and shook her head scoffing, “I would never attend such a mockery my goddess. Why would you want me to go? I doubt the witch’s covens in the area would agree to be a part of the peace treaty pact even if they agreed for me to represent them for their official affairs in the territory.” Finalizing the last tea leaves Alita brewed a pot of boiling water. Walking to her crystal table she set down the tea leaves and tea pot. Gently grabbing Selene’s hand, she sighs, “Are you concerned about her again?”
Selene’s eyes held a sadness that she hid with a bright smile, “I am only worried because she will be of age this fall and I cannot be there for her. Are you sure the bracelet will hold?” Selene bit her lip and waited for Alita’s response.
“My goddess, you have nothing to fear as long as she keeps that bracelet on all will be well. You do trust my work do you not?” Alita smiled and giggled at her beautiful friend in front of her. Selene was different from Alita, she had short white wavy hair that fell to her shoulders, beautiful cerulean blue eyes, a thin frame and long legs with curves of her own, she was slightly tanned from her time on earth also. She was gorgeous and had a motherly face that could be hard and firm, but her features were naturally soft.
Selene sighed, “Yes, I trust you, Alita. Who else can I trust if not you?”
Alita smirked giving her an impish look, “Well we would not have to be so worried if not for Lucy and him getting into your pants!” Selene turned bright red and smacked Alita’s arm laughing.
“Lucifer is the love of my life, do not be mean to that poor man. He wants his princess back soon. He wants her to rule over the underworld with him as soon as she is able. I wanted her to rule with me over the moon’s affairs, but we always disagree. Have you been keeping watch over her?” Selene excitedly grabbed a cup and handed it to Alita whose expression dampened a bit.
Rubbing the back of her neck Alita slowly made them both some tea for the reading” Selene, I have been watching but I lost track of her one day as she was playing. I have been searching for the last seven years and I cannot find her, no one has seen her either. I believe it means she is still wearing her talisman I gifted her as a child…” She sipped onto her tea and glanced at Selene.
“Alita Narcissa, you have lost track of the most important goddess in history, my only daughter, and you chose to sit silently and wait for me to visit!” The energy rolling off Selene made Alita flinch but stayed seated sipping her tea.
“Drink your tea Selene…” Frustrated she gulped down her tea and handed Alita the cup. The little witch stared at the cup for a moment confused at the reading.
“Selene, we have a major problem.” Alita looked up panicked.
“What is it?” Selene stood up and tried to investigate the cup.
“She is turning dark; her soul is slowly being overshadowed with hatred and anguish. If too much of her soul gets consumed, she will destroy everyone around her including herself. We must find her and try to salvage and cleanse her soul.” Alita stood and went to her shelf of elixirs and crystals.
Looking through she finally grabs three medium bottles and two stones off the top shelf. Each bottle had a different label, one said protection, another said self-centered, and finally the last bottle said enhancement. The two stones in her hand were obsidian and amethyst, each held the property to heal her.
Obsidian would overcome her bad inner thoughts and amethyst would help her find and forgive herself as well as others around her. Alita sighed and sat the elixirs onto the crystal table along with the two stones. She seemed focused and entranced as she mumbled a small prayer over the stones and then the elixirs.
“Alita, what are in these? I have always been so fascinated by your work but now that we will be using it on her, I have my concerns.” Biting her lip, she waited for Alita to lash out, but she simply giggled and smiled at Selene.
“Selene any mother would question magic for their child. Whether it was good or bad. The first potion I have made with basil, ginseng, chrysanthemum, orchids, black pepper, bergamot, and barberry. Each ingredient has soaked in purified water from the green sea, and I meditated on them for hours for protection…” She pushed the potion forward; it was a light green color.
“…Then I have the second potion which is made of calamint, camphor, chervil, mandrake root, wormwood, and coffee. All are used to remove anger, assist in dreams, psychic awareness, and divination. They also help in recovery from emotional pain which she is suffering from the most…” Moving the next potion forward it looked almost black and had a swirly effect that was mesmerizing.
“…The last potion is to enhance the other two potions already intense properties. She will need it considering her abilities. It has myrrh, violets, sea salt, nettle, and black pepper. It will help calm the nerves, draw out prophetic dreams and allow her to astral project more frequently, and promotes an open mind to allow all the negativity to flow out freely. This way no spell will be needed. After she baths in the first two potions, she will need to drink the last potion and keep the stones on her to maintain peace.” Moving the last potion forward it glowed purple and had black flecks spread throughout. It looked as if the water itself was moving and hade a current. Alita walked away to the backroom rummaging through many different trunks mumbling “where is it’ over and over.
Suddenly she jumps up, “Ah ha! I knew I still had it.” Walking back over she held a beautifully crafted rose gold crown with no gems. Selene watched as Alita sat the crown down and closed her eyes humming. She held her hands over the crown and the metal began to warp and move on its own. Selene gaped at the demonstration Alita was presenting her.
It turned into more of a choker necklace with beautiful, swirled designs. Then Alita took the two stones and hit them with a hammer hard on the crystal table. Instinctually Selene covered her face gasping ready for the table to shatter. As Alita hummed Selene peaked her eyes open constantly amazed by her friend’s magic.
The table was fine, and the stones had only split into four even pieces each. Now shaped into small diamonds after Alita held them tightly in her hand, she gently placed each stone into the small swirls on the choker. She rotated between the obsidian and the amethyst making an intricate pattern of black and purple. It was stunning and fit for royalty even with the stones being of low mortal value. Alita gasped and ran back again rummaging for another item.
Finally, she came back with a tiny ribbon and blessed it. She tied it to the ends into a tiny bow and added some special hooks. It was a gorgeous necklace, and the ribbon was softer than silk and blacker than night.
“Alright my goddess, now we just need to find our girl and get her to take a bath with the two potions, drink the third, and have her wear the talisman I have made for her. She does need to bath in each potion separately, preferably, when the moon is full but anytime will do. It must be on different days; it will take a minimum of three days for the entire potion set to work properly. If she baths too soon in-between potions, with the next potion it can cancel the effects of the first potion. Each one needs time to do its job.” Smiling she hands me all the items.
“Keep them safe with you for now, I will try my hardest to locate her. As for the festival, I will attend as an ambassador for the witches in the region if the local covens agree. I will try my hardest to appease their concerns and get them to join in next year’s pact. “Smiling Alita pulls Selene into a tight hug.
“I miss her Alita, where could she have gone. The last time I saw her was during an astral projection with Lucy and she was so worn out. I thought maybe she was just stressed but still safe where we left her.” Selene clung to Alita’s tiny form as she hushed her and rubbed soothing circles into her back.
“My goddess do not fret, we will find her. I have been trying my hardest, but she really did disappear out of nowhere. I am sure she is safe for now though.” They both held broken smiles with heavy hearts. “Alrighty my friend, you have to leave before Hyperion and Thea tattle to Daddy Themis!” Selene rolled her eyes smiling whilst her little witch friend burst into a fit of giggles.
“Thank you, my little witch!” Selene smiled and kissed her forehead waving goodbye out the door. “It is never a problem to help a friend of 4,000 years Selene.” She waved goodbye and sat down sighing heavily with her head tilted towards the ceiling.
She smirked thinking about those troublesome gods. Thea the Goddess of the sun and earth-bound creatures and Hyperion the God of light and day creatures. Those two were twins and a snooty pair they were. Both seemed to have fallen in love with the wrong people. Thea wanted Lucifer and Hyperion wanted Selene but neither had received the affections they had yearned for. Alita giggled remembering Selene tell the story of Thea running off to their father Themis, the God of order and creation, to stop Selene from being with Lucifer.
Apparently, Themis did not care one bit even though he had created Lucifer, Selene, Thea, and Hyperion, he was there to only love and guide them. He did not care about their affairs too much if they handled their people and made sure to keep the peace. Alita’s giggles subsided remembering the one rule Selene and Lucifer broke. Themis had forbidden any of his children to have a child with one another out of fear that the child would be too powerful to control amongst them and they would bring harm to themselves and to their people.
Alita sighed and went out the back door of her tea shop and sat in her garden meditating. She needed to commune with nature to feel at ease and try once again to locate her lost goddess.
