It was now the beginning of September, and I began to be more and more pessimistic as time went by. I would start my daily routine and run cold water to cool down the burning feeling rushing through me. I had just finished breakfast and had started on dishes. I watched the water flow from the faucet as I scrubbed plates, it was mesmerizing. As I stared at the water flow, I felt everything around me become muffled and like I was moving without effort. As I continued forward, I grabbed a knife, never looking away from the faucet I started to wash it when it slit my palm open. I winced and dropped it into the sink basin with a hiss.
