Dried tears stained my face as I lazily looked up. The tea shop had darkened tremendously. Everything seemed ominous and looming. I bit my lip and shut my eyes tight. Concentrating on the sound of my heartbeat I slowed it down. After a few minutes and some calmed deep breaths, I opened my eyes again. It hurt to face the truth. I stood from the table and went to the sink, washing my face and hands I think back to the kids being scared. My chest tightened thinking of them being afraid of me. Drying my hands, I walked down the hall and entered my room. Walking over to my closet I pulled out a new outfit for the day and headed to the bathroom to shower. I turned the water onto hot and let the steam engulf the bathroom. Setting my clothes on the counter I undressed and pulled out my ponytail.
