Graduation Day

Oaklee’s POV

Thump.

I suddenly opened my eyes to Elon jumping on my bed, screaming it’s graduation day. Over and over again while doing a small happy dance. I immediately sprang up and joined in on the happy dance. Let’s go; Oaklee or everyone else will get all of the best food. Elon turned around, and I leaped onto his back as we ran down the stairs and into the hallway leading to the dining area.

I always loved living in the packhouse, and the best part was the Beta and Gamma families lived here as well. Our packhouse had five floors, and Of course, the top floor was reserved for the Alphas family.

The bottom floor was open to all pack members; it had a large kitchen, dining area, movie room, and rec room for all of the kids in the pack. The second floor was for guests and held ten rooms; each room was equipped with a bathroom. The third floor was for the Gamma family and had ten rooms as well. The fourth floor was for the Beta family, also holding ten rooms, then the fifth was the Alphas with ten rooms. Each floor held an office. The Alpha, Beta, and Gamma floors held two so their mates would have their own.

As we sat at the table, our father, Alpha Garrick, stood waiting for everyone’s attention.

I want to congratulate all of our seniors today and raise a toast to our Graduating class! Just then, everyone cheered, and our mom Luna Malia stood to hug her mate. Looking at them, you could see a distinctive size difference. Alpha Garrick was 6’5 with a lot of muscle tone, brown hair, and blue eyes. Luna Malia was only 5,4 with blue eyes and blonde curly hair reaching to the middle of her back.

But the look they gave each other showed nothing but pure love.

“I hope my mate looks at me like that one day,” said Athena. Do you have any idea who your mate could be? I think I know who he is, but I don’t want to jinx it. “Oh My God,” and you never said anything! Who is he, does he know? Oaklee, calm down! He turns 18 soon, and then I’ll know for sure.

After quickly finishing our food Athena and I ran back up to my room and started getting ready for our Graduation. After Athena put a waterfall braid into my hair, I quickly did the same to her long black hair, and we searched for our outfits. Here try this one, Athena. Her beautiful caramel-colored skin would look stunning in this short lavender-colored dress. She is roughly 5’2 with brown hair and hazel eyes. I love it, Oaklee! Now let’s find yours. After a solid 15 minutes, I decided on a short baby blue form-fitted colored dress. And after 30 minutes, our makeup was complete. We snapped a couple of photos and started to head down to join our family and friends.

Enough photos, mom said Elon. All of the packhouse kids were crammed together for this make-shift photo shoot. Beta Cullen and his wife, Keilani, were the first to step in and hug the kids, followed by Alpha Garrick, Luna Malia, Gamma Zander, and his wife, Avalee. We all piled into cars and made our way to Centennial for the last time!

After a long speech given by our principal Zachary Grant, the crowd cheered, then followed by the names of the students. Oaklee Ricard, my heart stopped trying to focus on not falling, and when I looked out, I saw nothing but pride coming from my parents. The following 15 minutes went by so fast, “please help me graduate Centennials graduating class.” The crowd went wild, cheering on all of the seniors.

Athena quickly caught my attention. Let’s go! When we got back to the packhouse, we grabbed snacks, a couple of Gatorade’s and sprinted up the stairs to my room to watch a movie. We were two movies in when I noticed Athena snoring. I decided to get up and grab another Gatorade. As I made my way back up to my room, I stopped on the stairs as I suddenly grew insanely hot. I had to sit down on the top step.

The next thing I knew, I heard the sweetest voice in my head. Hello beautiful my name is Azurite. Oh My God! My wolf, it must be midnight! I am finally 18. Calm down, Oaklee; you are going to make yourself pass out. Channeling your wolf for the very first time takes a lot out of you. What color is your fur? When can we shift? When will we find our mate? I have so many questions. In time you will see my friend. With the new information I decided to go to bed.

Oaklee wake up! Happy birthday! Athena it’s Saturday go back to bed. Let’s go crazy! After being dragged out of bed, we quickly brushed our teeth, brushed our hair and threw on some shorts, with simple t shirts. We made it as far as the bottom stairway when we were hit with the screaming adults “Happy Birthday” as my mother pushed a small personal cake to me with light blue frosting. Thanks everyone!

It wasn’t until we sat down that out of no where I heard a loud thud then Athena dropped her glass from her hand. When I looked at her I noticed her beautiful hazel eyes went dark, and I heard her mumble mate. We all jumped out of our seats waiting to see who the lucky guy was when I saw Elon come running around the corner looking just as crazy as her. Oh my God my brother really? It wasn’t until I watched our moms both start to cry, and Athena lounge herself at Elon. He caught her, and held her so tight.
