Chapter 9: Are you an ally or enemy?

I didn't lose my consciousness. Im grateful. But I can't fight anymore. I can't even defend myself if something happens.

How long will this person gonna stand and just stare at me? Though my eyes are all shut, I can't still feel it's presence. It's not even moving in it's position, I can only hear it's breathing.

“How long will you hold your breath? It's been 5 min since I saw you here, quite fascinating huh” I heard a teenage guy's voice. So it's a he? Not sure about the gender.

And when I open my eyes, I saw a young man wearing a black hat and and a black mask covering his face. Matching the color of his pants and leather jacket. He's like a man in black. Only if he didn't change his shoes into white.

He obviously wanna hide his existence.

“What do you want? If you don't have any intention to help me, then go. I can't force someone to help me. That's so lame.” Im still here, laying on the cold ground of the forest. because I can't move my body.

My body is not that physically fit. I don't work out, I don't even do morning exercises. Im too busy studying at my small room.

Because I said to myself, being good in school is the only effort I can do to repay my sister.

And about the house chores, I carry lighter things. When I know it's heavy and I can't handle it, I always cheat and use my ability.

I mean, I can only use it at this situation without being guilty. Now I hate myself for not doing heavy stuffs. Why am I so lazy?

“You dont need help, You can fight back but you didn't” he said. I can't see his eyes, because its covered by his hat.

“So you're that guy who's following us all the way here? Yet you didn't make a fuss? Whatever, I don't care. Just go.” I said with a cold eyes straithly looking at him.

“You can fight them, Why would I help you? You let your heart win than you. You're a loser. You had the chance, but you hesitated hoping you can solved things without hurting each other, you dumb creature.” he said with an annoying tone.

I admit it, he's right. He reads me well.

“You know what? I don't care about your nonsense opinion. To be honest, that shouldn't be considered as opinion. So shut your asshole and leave.” I'm so mad. Everything he said is right, but he's still annoying.

He witnessed everything but he didn't even make a single move. I'm laying in this cold ground of dark forest with bruises all over my body yet he just WATCHED me. Was that entertaining? Did he really said that im a loser while watching me being beaten?

What a trashy mindset.

I closed my eyes again. I'm just gonna wait till the sun goes up. Maybe my body won't hurt anymore when I woke up.

I can still feel his presence. And he's also not alone. But it looks like his friends just arrived now.

Then I open my eyes again. There I saw him, still standing on the same position, just staring at me. I can't see any emotions because I can't barely see his face.

“I said leave. You didn't have to call your friends. If you want me dead, you can just do it yourself. No need to call others.” Did he really planned to kill me all along?

“Look, I don't know who you're talking about. But we really need to go, so get up there. Don't expect me to carry you.” even though I can't see his lips, I know he just smirked at me.

What a jerk.

“I'm not asking you to carry me, I already told you to leave. Can't you see? I can't move an inch!” I said with an irritating voice.

I tried to move my arms but it f*****g hurts. But I still managed to get up because I feel too many presence now. And they are coming to us. f**k, I need to endure this pain.

“Hey faster! Will you let them caught us here?” I can tell he's also getting nervous.

“Im really sorry, but im so beat up I can't move any of my bones and muscles. If you don't want to get caught of those people who's coming, then run! But if you're kind, please just carry me” Im also getting scared. They're almost here.

He's trembling. He's like a puppy who can't poop. But then he carried me---bridal style.

I'm shocked. It's so awkward I can't look in his face. Im so stiff. I chose to look down because of embarrassment.

I can feel he's struggling to run because of me.

“Can't you manage your weight? You're so heavy.” I just look at him. I can see his eyes in this position. But it's still blank. I still can't see anything.

I didn't answer him. I just did what he said and I think he understand it.

I made both our bodies lighter. I didn't really reduced our weight, I just used air to to carry it.

After a couple of minutes of running, I we finally lost them. There's also a small house here where we stopped.

The house looks old. What would you expect to a house built in the forest? But trust me, it's very different in the inside.

I can't stop my jaw from dropping. He threw me at the bed inside a room. But that's not what made me amazed because I already expected it.

It's the interior design. It's so modern you won't expect it from the outside. The outside looks shabby and old. It's just woods with moss everywhere.

Everything here are modernized. It has a nice theme and the floor is tiles. The dining table outside is marble, and I think it's beautiful. The theme is same in this room. It's also air conditioned with a large flat screen television.

I guess you can't really judge a book by it's cover.

Looks like someone has a magic or special ability. But that's impossible--oh, yeah right. It is possible.

I began to feel the pain again from earlier that I somehow forget because im too amazed in this house. This is magical.

Until now the guy from earlier didn't come back. I also forgot to ask his name. I thought earlier I won't see him again so it's not necessary but that's not the case now.

I will trust this guy tonight, since he did helped me big time. I don't really want to sleep here. Im not sure what will happen when I wake up or will I even wake up. But this comfortable bed is so tempting that made my eyes heavy. My body also needs rest.

I slowly gave up and let my consciousness drift away.
