Chapter 11: Too much informations.

She doesn't talk again but then she waved her hand at me as if she wants to do something.

Fire came out from her hand. I can feel the heat and my skin is already burning.

“W-what are you doing? Are you going to kill me? Put your hands down!” I freaked out.

She can control fire!?

She didn't listen to what I just said and even made a huge fiery ball. She threw it at me without hesitation.

She doesn't give a damn if the house will get burned by it? Or if I got killed by it??

I panicked when he threw a huge fireball at me but I immediately avoided it. I thought it was it but then he threw another one. I tried to stop it with the wind but I only increased the fire and it even touched my right arm.

My arm got burned and it hurts like hell. I think I can peel my skin when I touch it.

Is that it? Maybe they figured out that I won't cooperate with them? That's why they will kill me now??

I know I miss my parents but I don't want to meet them so soon.

I stopped overthinking things when Sophia started to talk.

“So you're a wind user? Aerokinesis. That's cool! Actually, you're the first person I know who can use wind. Telekinesis is kind of similar to that, but no. It's two different things, they're technically really not the same. Wow, I know you're mother's potencia is nature. Though, the air is also part of nature. Wow. It all makes sense now.” she amazingly stated.

What's happening? I thought she's about to end my precious life. But then, she just test me? Am I a toy or something?

“Oh, yes. I need to explain. I know you won't admit it so I made you do it. Your potencia is really cool, Stella. You don't need to hide it. You should be proud of it.” I don't know what expression should I make.

Happy? Because I have a “cool” ability?

Sad? Because I'm so predictable that she knew if she pushed me too hard I'll eventually give up?

Mad? Because she made a fool out of me. I'm really scared.

Or thankful? Because she understands me, my ability. That I'm not a monster because I have this.

All my life, I identified myself as a hideous monster. I can't call myself a human because I can do things that a normal person can't do.

This isn't normal. I'm not normal. Why should I be proud of it?

But then, in this situation where I almost die, she made me think a deep forgotten thought.

I am capable to do things that others can't do. I'm unique. And it is beautiful. I shouldn't forget about this kind of thing.

It's the first time that someone appreciates it, even I, myself, didn't appreciate it at all.

Even my family. They always taught me to hide it because it's dangerous. They don't want to explain it to me, they just want me to listen to them without any questions. So I did.

“What? Did I do something wrong? I'm so sorry.” She asked innocently. I do think she's being sincere.

But really? She doesn't know what she just did to me? Is she blind? Can't she see that my arm is burned by her fire?

“You almost killed me with those fireballs, Sofia. And now you're asking if you did something wrong? All you've done is wrong. You can't just throw fire when you didn't get what you want. That is rude.” I explained.

“Hey, I'm sorry. Come on, let me treat your arm.” She invites me to her room.

Of course, I followed her because I badly want my arm to stop hurting.

“Can you explain to me everything that I didn't know? Detailed, please. I feel like my brain cells are not working earlier.” I don't know if it's just a coping mechanism of mine. Maybe? Because I just want to run away and forget what happened here.

But running away isn't the answer to any problem. Just because you ran, doesn't mean it's gone.

“Do you believe in any conspiracy theories that scientists made? One of them is true. The Parallel Universe theory is actually true. Earth is really a big and mysterious world. But there is another world that is more mysterious than Earth, Tierra. Tierra is the name of our world, it literally means Earth if you translate it. This is also where you came from, Stella. Tierra and Earth are almost the same things but the only difference is half of our population there has a magica potencia, an ability that was given to those chosen people since birth. And I can say that the technology is more advanced there, you'll see it when we go there.

Humans there also believe that Tierra is the only world that's existing, just like what people on earth think. But 20 years ago, our leader discover about the earth. That we're not the only humans living in our life.

Just like what people do on earth, We do our daily chores, We play, study, and study more, And find a job after we graduate, work, and work, and die.” She explained continuously.

I felt like I was drowning because of too much information but I chose to listen even more.

I want to know everything.

“The only portal to enter each world is Hozie. It is located in the center of this forest. Also, There's only one rule in the two universes. Two people in each world can't be together. The other one must know its place or die. Well, just so you know.” She added.

I c-can't believe everything. What if it's just a prank? Pranking people these days are pretty popular. But she also has a special ability. Or is it just a dream? Why am I still not waking up?

“How can you prove that everything that you said is a hundred percent true? What if this is just a prank or something? Well if it is, then congratulations! You fooled me again.” I said sarcastically.

But there's a part of me that keeps telling me to believe.

“Who gave you trust issues? Damn, you're always suspicious about everything. I don't need proofs to make you believe, we'll gonna be there later anyway.”

“Wait, you will take me with you in your world? Nope, I'll humbly decline your offer. I'm sorry if I offended you. I believe you, okay? You don't need proof such as taking me with you. I also need to go home now. My friends are probably looking for me since I disappeared.” I explained.

“But you have no choice, Stella. You need to choose your family this time. You need to pay your mother's debt, be responsible for it. You're not a teenager anymore. I thought you're matured enough to understand this. I guess I'm wrong.” I heard a heavy sigh coming from her.

I was about to defend myself furthermore but I got interrupted because someone came in.

“Are you sure that your so-called friends are worried about you?” he asked.

And I answered him immediately, without any doubt.

“Well, I am. They are my friends. I know more than you. What about you? You know nothing about our friendship”

He just gave me a smirk before touching my head.

I saw some pictures of my friends slowly flashing through my mind.

“Hey, where is Stella? Did you guys saw her?” It's Lyn, she's looking for me. I was right.

“Just enjoy the party! She's not a minor. Let her be.” Angel replied.

“Yeah, whatever. Maybe she's flirting on some guys out there because she can't have mine, as if we care. Lol.” Yvonne added.

“That must be true.”

“Now tell me, Are they worried? What did you see? Tell us, Stella” He said using a tone like he was saying ‘I won, right?'

My head hurts. It feels like my head was tearing apart. What was that just now? A vision of what happened there?

“Stella, are you okay? Lay down on the bed first, rest a bit.” She assisted me to the bed making sure I won't collapse.

“You don't need to tell us what you saw. For now, take a rest. But later tonight, I want you to be ready. I know you're tired a shocked about things and stuff. Too much information, isn't it? But I know you'll get used to it sooner than you think.” She calmly said with a sweet voice.

I can tell that she's also worried.

“For now, I'll tell you our plans when we go there. Just listen to me carefully okay?” She added.

I just nodded. Too tired to talk.

“When we enter the Tierra, you need to hide your real identity. For your own safety. Listen, your mother died a years ago and you're an abandoned child who grew up as a beggar. That's your new identity, always remember that.” She explained.

I silently listened to her. I can ask questions later when she's done talking.

“After entering Tierra, we will go to the land of Castre. You will enroll in their famous school, Estrella Academy. Estrella Academy is a prestigious school built in the center of Castre. It is famous because only those who have potencia can be accepted there. You will learn everything regarding your potencia there and how to make it more powerful. The school itself is beautiful because they believe that power is beautiful. Anyone can take the test, even a beggar like you wouldn't look suspicious.”

I somehow remember this school.

I'm going to study there? About my ability? I'm lying if I say I'm not excited.

“Our main plan here is to take back the stone. It's currently in the Principal's care. And that's your mission, you need to search for that stone and give it back to your family.”

“You want me to rob them? That prestigious school you just said?” I asked.

I know I'm stupid but I'm not that stupid.

I already know that I'm gonna fail.

“It's not actually stealing because it's not theirs in the first place.”

“Don't worry, it's just a piece of cake with that potencia of yours.” She added.

Does that suppose to make me feel better?

I'm just listening to her. My mind and heart are arguing about what I should believe.

“Remember, Stella, you're an abandoned beggar who lives in the street. Your parents died when you were just a child. You grew up as a beggar, Don't forget everything that I told you.” She reminds me again and again.

“How... can I trust you?” I asked.

“You don't need to trust me, Trust your family.”

I have a responsibility. I'll be brave, For my family.
