Chapter 18: First step.

I ignored the girl who judged my whole personality by my visual. I hope our paths won't cross again. I hate dealing with people like her.
She's mad and irritated by me but girl, the feeling is mutual. Even though I really want to slap this girl, I still chose to shut my mouth. The guard is quite scary, I don't like to mess with him.
I avoided the girl and patiently waited for my turn to get interviewed. I think that's what they're doing at the front.
There's a woman wearing a blue formal dress at the front gate, And I think she's the one in charged of interviewing enrollees.
I hope they won't notice something one, don't I really look suspicious? Because I think this plan is ridiculous.
But I also want to learn a lot of things here, if it's possible. I want to control myself even more.
No more accidents will happen,
No more tragedies.
It's already my turn? That's so fast.
Sh*t, I'm trembling. I obviously nervous. My heart won't behave, I can literally hear it beating loudly. It's like a prisoner who badly wants to see the outside world.
What if they already knew my identity? What if I got caught?
“kumusta? I am Ms. Helena and I'm the who will assist you, enrollees, to enter the school successfully. But first, I need to ask questions about your personal information. Don't worry, we won't leak any of it. You are safe with us. So, let's start.” She greets me with a simple smile.
I hid my hands from her so she won't see it shaking.
But, what was that? Kumusta? Is that how they greet each other? Never mind that. You need to focus on your self. It's the first step of the mission, entering the school.
Inhale, exhale. That's it.
“What's your name? Your address and your potencia?” She asked all at once.
“I'm Stella, 20 years of old. And I don't have a specific address. As you can see, I'm an unfortunate bum who lives at the streets. My parent's are deceased. They are gone since I was young, I don't practically remember it. A-and my potencia is, um, I can somehow control air.”
You need to be brave, Stella! You can't fail this one.
“Okay, you had a tragic past, it's okay. Focus on your future more. Last question for you, why do you want to enroll here?”
“I'm tired of living on the streets. And this is the most famous school. It's everyone's dream to study here. I also want to enhance my ability, to be more powerful and earn a lot of money in the future.” I confidently said.
Thank God I didn't forget a single information Sofia told me. We actually practiced this.
I want to drink a whole bottle of holy water to rinse all of the lies that came out from my mouth. I'm a sinner now. I'm so sorry, God. Please forgive me because I still have lies to utter in the future.
She didn't say a word for a minute. She scan my whole body intensely as if she can see through my soul. Is this where I'll get caught? She's obviously looking at me to see if I'm lying or something. Which is true.
“Hmm, You can now proceed to the another line.” She told me the way to the other line. It's actually an office inside.
After I said my gratitude to Ms. Helena, I walked away. She said there's a line but I'm the only one here.
I knocked 3 times before I heard someone in the room giving me permission to enter.
“You passed the first exam, The introduction. Now, what kind of magica potencia do you have?” I saw an old woman sitting on her chair, sticking her hands on another like shes praying.
I'm still new to this question because I'm used on hiding it. So if someone asks about it, I originally don't hesitate to deny it. But I guess things completely changed now.
“I can control the air.” I can't look her in the eye.
Why is every single person here is intimidating?
“Can I see it?” she looks interested. Her eyes are sparkling like she found a rare diamond that she can sell at a high price.
I thought of simple ways to introduce my ability but I chose the dangerous way. I think I need to at least make her jaw drop. I need to impress her.
“What now? You can't pr-” She hold her neck calmly. She even manage to gave me a smile.
Suddenly I can't feel my power. It's like there's a barrier that prevents me from using it.
