Lydia slowly opened her eyes, and as her vision cleared, she gasped in surprise upon realizing she was in a hospital.
She carefully sat up in bed just as a nurse walked in.
"Good afternoon, ma'am. How are you feeling?" the nurse asked, checking on Lydia.
"I'm good now," Lydia replied, recalling that she had passed out due to Malachi's words. She was surprised to realize she had been unconscious for so long, waking up the next day in the afternoon.
As memories of Malachi's words about Dylan flooded back, anxiety washed over her once more.
"I just came to check on you. I'll be leaving now, ma'am," the nurse said, turning to head toward the door.
"Wait," Lydia suddenly called out, and the nurse turned back.
"Yes, ma'am?"
"Where's my husband? He’s the one who brought me here," Lydia
