Lucy’s POV The holidays were still on, and I hadn’t done anything significant since returning from the Western Kingdom—especially not after discovering a whole lot of new and confusing information about myself. Aunt told me that my lioness had been put to sleep—or dormant, if you prefer. I was stunned when I heard that. It felt surreal. How could a whole part of me just be… shut off like that? But now that I knew, I wanted her back. I wanted to be whole again. I didn’t want to hide anymore. So, I asked Aunt to take me to the very person who had cast the original spell on me. And that’s how we ended up on a train, headed to a small village on the outskirts of the city called Parly. After we arrived, we took a taxi to the witch’s house. “Are you from around here?” Aunt asked the driver.
