I was furious. I didn’t even want to look at that witch again until I found out who wanted to harm my girl. What could she possibly gain from this? I already despised her. And if what Malcolm and I suspected turned out to be true—if she was behind this—I swear by the goddess, she would never know peace again. I wouldn’t rest until she faced execution. Even Zeus was completely aligned with me on this.
We needed to meet—Malcolm, Thomas, and I—to devise a plan for baiting the prisoner. This wasn’t going to be a walk in the park; it needed to be meticulous. I was growing impatient while waiting for them. I tapped on my desk repeatedly.
