Lucy’s POV I ran up the stairs, not even waiting for him to use the elevator, which required a special code. As soon as I reached my room, I locked myself inside. It wasn’t because he had done something wrong—it was because I had made a promise to his mother. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to resist his charm, that I would end up kissing him and breaking my word. I had made up my mind, but I was going to let him down gently.
