Wrongness and Yearning (3)

1733 Words

Addie continued to cry long after her father left her bedroom door. As she did so, she railed, why did life have to be so unfair? Being born an alpha, being born the eldest, or being born at all—none of it was her own choice. So why? Why must she be made responsible for any of it? When it was already bad enough that she had to deal with the hassles of being what she was, did she really have to deal with someone else’s problems too? Worst of all… how could her parents expect her to simply give way to Kade like it was nothing? Despite thinking this, however, Addie knew—if it had been about anything else, she would have done it. She would have grumbled and complained to no end, but ultimately, like she always had, she would still have done what was expected of her as Kade’s older sister.
