“Go ahead and sit over at the couches,” Kade said cheerlessly after ushering his guests into the apartment. “I’ll get us snacks and drinks.” “Forget about that,” Ren replied, stopping him. “Just tell us what’s going on, Kade.” Instead of relenting, Kade simply compromised. “Let’s all go to the kitchen,” he said.
