Arden didn’t even bother looking at him. “Please focus on your own matters,” was all he said, which was the polite version of “Mind your own business.” It surprised him when Kade actually did so. The rest of the day went more smoothly. Instead of bothering Arden each time he encountered a difficulty, Kade simply made a list of questions he intended to discuss with him at a later time. Arden saw it when he finally decided to glance at him and check what he was doing. Once again, he was impressed by how seriously Kade was treating his role, even if it would only be temporary. He couldn’t exactly say why, but unlike Addie, he wasn’t so doubtful that Kade’s good behavior would last. Thus, all the dread he had felt after being told he would be in charge of Kade’s training had now vanished.
