Wedding nightmare

Lila was in the dressing room already dressed for her wedding, she looked at her reflection in the mirror and almost teared up, she couldn't believe she was getting married, it seemed like a dream to her, and most importantly to the love of her life, Racheal who was busy munching on her cookies seated at one side saw that her friend was on the verge of crying, her friend was a very emotional person, " you should be happy, this is the happiest day of every woman's life, Racheal said as she walked to her and hugged very carefully not to destroy her makeup, "I know Racheal, I'm just surprised, overwhelmed and it all seems to good to be true, "you deserve this and more Racheal said with a warm smile

"everyone is waiting, Rachel's dad said as he walked in to the room, "alright, see you at the altar muah Racheal said blowing a kiss as she walked out. "you'd be fine honey, I trust you, your mum trust you, everyone does and I want you to most importantly trust yourself he said with a warm smile. Mr Maverick led his daughter to the altar, everyone stared at the beautiful angel walking in with her father by her side, Mrs Maverick was already crying as she looked at her daughter walk in but what was in Lila's mind was different, she looked at the most handsome man standing at the altar with a loving look, the guest could sense the love between the couples because of how they stared at each other, it was a loving atmosphere and everyone witnessed it, Axel could not stop staring at his beautiful bride as she matched into the altar, she was everything to him, and just the sight of her stole his breath away. Mr Maverick handed his daughter to Axel whispering "better take care of her", "I promise I will Axel said with a chuckle

"You look beautiful" Axel said making Lila blush.

The priest, a wise and kind-faced man, greeted the couple with a warm smile. He began the ritual, his voice clear and soothing, as he invited the congregation to witness the union of Lila and Axel. Racheal, Lila's best friend and maid of honor, stood by her side, offering a reassuring presence, while Axel's best man, Ethan, stood beside him, beaming with pride.

As the priest continued the ceremony, Lila and Axel exchanged vows, promising to love and cherish each other through life's joys and challenges. They exchanged rings, sealing their commitment, and the priest pronounced them husband and wife. With a gentle kiss, Axel sealed their union, as the congregation erupted in joyful applause. Racheal and Ethan shared a happy glance, thrilled to see their dear friends begin their new life together. The reception was a blast, everyone was enjoying the atmosphere. "May I have your first dance milady" Axel said with a dramatic bow, "off course gentleman, Lila replied with the same tone, "I'm so happy we are finally together", Axel said seriously, I told you no problem was strong enough to stop us from getting married, "you said that and for the first time ever you are right" Lila said with a smile, "we would make a great couple and parents", Axel said, "what?! we haven't even spent a day yet and you are talking about children already, "off course, you know how long I've dreamt about this day Lila and I promise you that I'm going to tire you out this night, Axel said, the last part in a hush tone, I'll ha........, can I borrow my daughter Mr Blackwood said, ''oh common dad, go find your wife or something, Axel said grumbling before handing over Lila to his father, "you look beautiful my dear, Mr Blackwood said with a smile, "thank you dad" Lila replied back with a smile. After Mr Blackwood danced with Lila, Mr Maverick Lila's dad took over and after some advice, Lila's mum came and dragged Lila away and the first thing she did was hug her as they both cried their eyes out, they also spoke for some time and finally it was time to go. Axel and Lila got into the car as they bid their family goodbye, "Mrs Axel Blackwood" we are about to start a new life together, Axel said making Lila's heart thump hearing him call their name together. The ride to Axel's house was quiet, each of their minds occupied with the direction their lives was going to take them. The car strolled into the huge mansion highly lightened, as the car parked in the driveway, Axel jumped down and picked his bride the Bridal way, his action causing Lila to laugh, Lila typed the passcode to the door and they both entered.

"Something is not right" Axel said as he dropped Lila on the couch, "what? what's not right? Lila asked with a confused look, "baby, I'll be back I need to get something, this night cannot proceed without it he said with a smile, "no, whatever it is can wait Axel please just stay back, Lila said with pout, "baby I promise I'll be back before you know it Axel said as he pulled Lila and hugged her, a way of convincing her to agree with him which she instantly did, "promise to be back very soon okay? "of course Lila I won't miss this night for anything, Axel said with a teasing smile making Lila blush, he pecked her on the cheek before leaving.

Lila paced back and forth in the living room, glancing at her watch for what felt like the hundredth time. It had been an hour since Axel left. She tried calling him, but it went straight to voicemail. A sense of unease settled in the pit of her stomach.

Just as she was starting to worry, her phone rang. She answered, hoping to hear Axel's voice on the other end. But it was a stranger's voice, firm and professional.

"Lila, this is Dr. Smith from St. Michael's Hospital. I'm afraid Axel has been in an accident. You need to come to the hospital as soon as possible."

Lila's heart raced as she grabbed her purse and rushed out the door. The drive to the hospital felt like an eternity. She burst through the emergency room doors, her eyes scanning the room for any sign of Axel.

Dr. Smith approached her, his expression somber. "Lila, Axel was involved in a severe car accident. He suffered significant injuries, including a head trauma and internal bleeding. We're doing everything we can, but it's critical."

Lila's world went dark as she stumbled backwards, her mind reeling with the news. She felt like she was in a nightmare, unable to wake up."How...how did it happen?" she managed to stammer."The police are investigating, but it appears Axel lost control of the car on the wet roads. He was rushed here, and we've been working to stabilize him. But I need to prepare you, Lila...the next hours are crucial."

Lila nodded, tears streaming down her face as she begged, "Please, save him. Please." Dr Smith was a family doctor and he was present at the wedding today, Lila sat on the Floor of the hallways praying to God to heal her dear husband. Just then, Axel's parents, Mr and Mrs Blackwood, rushed into the hospital, their faces etched with worry and fear. They quickly made their way to Lila's side, embracing her tightly.

"Lila, our dear, how is our son?" Mrs Blackwood asked, her voice trembling.

Lila's eyes welled up again as she repeated the doctor's words, trying to hold back her tears. Axel's parents listened, their faces falling with each passing moment.

Mr Blackwood voice cracked as he spoke, "We were so happy to see him get married, and now...this."Sophia nodded, her eyes brimming with tears. "We need to pray, John. We need to pray for our son's recovery." Mr and Mrs Maverick hugged their daughter as she sobbed in their arms they knew she was hurting a lot.

Dr. Smith walked out of the ICU, his face somber, and approached the group of loved ones gathered in the waiting area. He took a deep breath before speaking, his words gentle but firm."I'm so sorry to tell you this, but Axel's injuries were too severe. Despite our best efforts, he didn't make it. Axel has passed away."

The room fell silent, as if time itself had stopped. Axel's parents, John and Sophia, clutched each other, their faces crumpling in anguish. Lila's parents, Maria and John, held each other tight, tears streaming down their faces. Rachel and Ethan looked at each other, shock and disbelief etched on their faces.

Lila, however, didn't react at first. She just stood there, her eyes fixed on Dr. Smith, as if waiting for him to say something else, something that would change the outcome. Then, her face contorted in a mix of anguish and disbelief, and a wail escaped her lips.

"No! No! NOOO!" she screamed, her body collapsing into her parents' arms. They held her tight, trying to comfort her as she sobbed uncontrollably.
