Like the tidal wave of pain, the realization hits me. This wasn’t an accident, they planned it, they wanted to run us off the road so they could take Halo away from me.
“Halo!” I scream just as the loud gong from the hall bangs, reverberating through the shackles of the night. It is midnight. Just behind the glare of the headlight, the bloody moon stands with pride, watching everything happen. Sharp pain explodes through my entire body.
Somehow, the pain feels different from the accident, it feels internal, like something is crawling out from my insides. I gasp, doubling over. My skin tinges like it's on fire. I can hear the crackling of my bones, the shift and the pain is maddening blurring my vision instantly but the only thing on my mind is getting to Halo.
