I gasp awake, my chest constricting, my heart hurrying in my chest as I look around. The strong smell of antiseptic shoves its way down nostrils, and the bright filtering from the high rise windows refract from the immaculate sheets.
There’s a steady beep, constant by my side, and a ruffled breathing as well. An IV fluid stands like a guard to my side, linked to a needle shoved into my arm.
“I had the wildest dream,” I whisper to myself as I lie on the bed once more, rubbing my throbbing forehead. I had a dream that Halo and I were in an accident when we tried to leave the hall, some people tried to kidnap Halo, and then I looked like a wolf? Laughable.
