ELENA The pain slowly dulls until it is a gentle throb in the back of my spine, releasing me from the grip of darkness. “Where am I?” It definitely isn’t the pack hospital — it’s strange. I wince as I try to move; the pain rouses once more. What the hell happened to me? One minute I was standing, the next I was convulsing into a fit of pain. The last time I had felt such intense pain in my spine was… I wince as the memory of the process flashes. The screams tear across my head, almost splitting my scalp in half. When I was de-wolfed, the pain had been severe and it had been in the same position. I sigh, flinging my legs to the ground. “One, two.” I push to my feet.
