The Five Wishes

EPISODE 2

Bell rangs, the first period of the class was over but I was still in my own thoughts without knowing the period was over. Noah is sit behind of me in the class, he notices that i will not concentrate on anything and a whole long worried about something without knowing that the class hours was finished.

Olivia.. Olivia. Noah called my name as well as they approached me.Noah voice makes me realize the current environment.

He asked me, what are you thinking?

I said, Nothing while holding a fake smile at my face.But he was still confused about my behaviour.

Noah comes from a high class family and their parents are running a restaurant which is more famous in this city. We were becoming friends only in our high school. When our g**g members went for an outing he was the only person who was ready to pay a bill for us.

He’s the guy who has not been interested in studying rather than he would like to run our parents business successfully.

When we came back to our Noah family,he was a single child to their parents so they always treated him as a little boy like an elementary school kid.They parents were still busy in their business work ,so they couldn’t have spent more time with him. He feels always lonely before but after he becomes friends with us,they don’t feel any loneliness. 

He always wants to show himself best to prove their family.

The second class hours are also going as usual.

The off day of college is coming to an end. That means our lunch break.Usually we five are sitting on the same bench to have our lunch.So that we all gathered on that table and  we were facing opposite to each other.

Lucy noticed that I was upset and also not showing any interest in that food.She wants to divert my mind ,so she started the conversation first.

Seriously, I really can't control my sleep when the chemistry professor  starts their lesson.

The boys are laughing.

Lucy continues, when the professor starts their speech my eyes automatically go out of my control and it is really hard to try to concentrate. But if I start concentrating on their speech I feel more sleepy.

Everybody started laughing except me.My concentration is totally somewhere.

Noah suddenly interrupted Lucy's words and he said, correct we all feel sleepy in that chemistry class except lucy.

He looked at me “Am i correct Olivia”.

I confused myself but tried to act normal.

He continued,she’s the only one who doesn't feel sleepy in class and her full concentration was in her studies.

I try to avoid eye contact on him but he keeps on looking at my eyes.

I took a sip of juice and replied,”No No Not like that I too feel sleepy sometimes”.

I really don’t have any idea about how long I hide this problem from my friends.But I surely don’t want to spoil my friends happiness.

Finally today college was over,I rushed to reach my home fast to see my mother.Lucy noticed me while standing behind me.She worried about me,so she came along with me when i left the school.

We slowly walked across the road and there was a dead silence between us.She looked at my face sometimes while walking.Lucy started a conversation, so she thinks she will break the silence between us.

Olivia,”why don’t you ask Noah for some help ?”.

For what? I asked.

For your mother’s medical treatment.

I looked at her face. She is reluctant to speak but she wants to complete her words.Why am I saying this because he’s from a rich family and their family has highly influenced many business people so they can easily solve your problems.

I replied,``Put your hand on your chest and tell me“Is this possible for him to arrange this much money.

You already know about their family,still they treated Noah as an elementary school kid and even they didn’t give any freedom to him to make a decision. 

They also didn't spend time with him due to their work.Inbetween that how they parents listen to Noah words to help my mother.It's hardly impossible.

Again a dead silence between us. And again she started talking,

Hey Olivia, I forgot to say this,”This month we have a dinner party at RICH&FOOD restaurant and as usual Noah's treat.''Be ready on 7’0 clock.

Sorry, I'm not feeling well so I am unable to come,I replied.

Why suddenly every month we had a simple party at a restaurant right, did you forget all.

I maintain silence.

She takes a deep breath and continues,“I can understand your situation but you too want some relaxation for yourself to get relief from your stress”.

I wanted to say something but within a second she interrupted my words, No more excuses tomorrow you come to the restaurant at 7’0 clock that’s it.

Okay bye.. Be careful on your way. Don’t forget to come tomorrow. While yelling she runned into their right side street.

The road divides into two subdivide small streets and Lucy home is on the right side and mine is on the left side.

I come back to my home,after entering into the home my eyes automatically search for my mother, but she’s not in the living room.   After that i checked all other rooms while calling her.But she’s not at all there in the rooms.I got panicked at the same time scary, I dropped my school bag on the floor and started shouting ,“Mom where are you”.

My inner thoughts all went wrong thinking about her.There is a war between my thoughts.Meanwhile I reached the terrace when I was searching for my mother. Unfortunately she’s there, I thanked god that nothing will be serious.

In Between from the room to terrace the tears fell down from my eyes without knowingly.I don't want to show my mother what happened here so I wiped out my tears and put a smile on my face.

I casually walked near to my mother and touched her shoulder.

She was scared at that moment,

”Omg olivia you makes me scared”,really.

Mom, what are you doing here? Why are you sitting here along? Like that I asked one by one question.

Calm down Calm down my daughter, I feel I Need some refreshment that’s why i come here.

Why are you worried this much? I too noticed you these days, for a simple reason you will get worried and suffer.It’s really not good for health even if it will spoil your peace of mind.

I avoided her face to face contact so that I turned my head facing opposite to her.” Not like that mom, I think you over imagine myself.”

She turned back my shoulder to make me see her face.She looked my eyes closely and asked 

What happened to your eyes? 

Why is it red in colour?

No mom ,”There is no such  thing like that “.I replied to her.

She held my face and started talking, I know nowadays you didn’t sleep well at night.

Can I say one thing: Nothing is permanent in this world.No one can make changes in god’s plan. He calculated everything in this world efficiently.And also there is a big reason and responsibility behind that decision. So in that case we are just puppets to him. You understand what I meant.

We are able to understand the reality of nature.

To this world’s everybody is like a passenger in the bus,when time comes they want to get down from the bus.

But in my case I already know when I am going to get down from the bus that’s the only difference between me and others.

I still don't know how many days I have lived in this world but I want to leave this world having so much happiness when I die.

So as a daughter you have responsibilities  to fulfil my wishes.So don’t worry too much, wipe our tears,let's be happy from now onwards. 

She wiped out my tears with her soft fingers and hugged me tightly. That time I decided to live happily for my mother and make her even more happy.
