Jade's POV
We didn't talk much through dinner. I want to say that I could taste the food, but my stomach was in knots and I only forced the food down out of habit and a need to keep my strength up. Bela and the Heartless Alpha talked about what had gone on since he last was within the pack lands. They almost seem like friends.
Victor kept looking at me. I wonder if he's afraid of what the Heartless Alpha would do. Sarah keeps looking around, unsure of her surroundings and how to approach the whole situation. We had left the twins with an Omega to be cared for while we met with the Alpha.
Dinner seemed to go on forever. I know it was only in my heart pounding, knowing I wasn't ready or feeling I wasn't ready for what was to come. Bela kept squeezing my hand under the table. Reassuring
