Bela's POV
I watched Jade leave with the Heartless Alpha. My stomach dropped. I knew what this was about without hearing Jade say it. I tried to focus on the conversation. But I kept reaching out, trying to get a reading on how Jade was doing. I got a sense that she was calm but a little uneasy. I monitored her through our mate link. I could tell the story had come to a part that had her scared, I could sense she was terrified. Somehow she calmed herself. I felt proud, she was truly powerful. I knew when the story had ended. I could sense puzzlement. She was confused, and I wanted to ask her what was going on.
She was tired. I knew that, and I got up to head to your room. She was sitting on the bed when I got there.
