CHAPTER THREE

Adam was not expecting it, he had just finished greeting the Alphas and werewolves in the side of the party hosted for mated werewolves then he had come over to the party hosted for the unmated wolves.

Just walking into the party hall and he could scent her already, the sweet and delicious scent of vanilla and Blueberries

‘Mate’ his wolf growled anxiously wanting to go find his mate wherever she was hiding.

His normally gray eyes were now tinged red signifying the partial presence of his wolf.

Hannah on the other side of the party was flirting with a guy who had just given her a glass of cocktail, while she was sipping the wine and keeping an eye out for Adam , she saw him, walking into the party hall, looking as delicious as ever in his navy blue suit and blue tie.

Just then she saw him pause and sniff the air and his eyes turning half red, she knew immediately that he had found his mate and she was at this party.

Determined to carry out her plans to the maximum, she excused herself from the guy she was talking to.

“Excuse me, I have to go meet someone” she said to the guy and stood up.

Straightening the skimpy silver dress that hugged her curves deliciously, she plastered a sweet seductive smile on her face and walked towards Adam who was on his way to find his mate.

“Adam darling I've been searching for you for a very long time” Hannah whined , clinging onto Adam and rubbing her lips on his.

Brianna who was coming to meet her mate was shocked, was this for real? Another woman was in her mate's arms kissing him and addressing him as darling?

Adam held onto Hannah who was wobbling unsteadily with her hands around his waist.

‘mate! Go find our mates!’ Ryder, Adam wolf whined.

Adam was tempted to abandon Hannah and go talk to his mate but Hannah ribbed against him “I'm so uncomfortable Adam, my heart hurts so much”a tear trickled down her cheeks, landing on his clothes and splattering on his shirt.

The warm moisture of her tears slipped into his skin from his shirt.

Adam felt his heart hurting as he held onto her tightly.

He knew that his breakup with Hannah would break her heart but he had to do it for his mate, he didn't want his mate to be heartbroken too

“Take me away from here” Hannah whined, Adam was about to protest but the mournful cry and the sound of heel tapping on the ground and getting away from the party hall made him raise his eyes.

His mate had disappeared.

“My mate, I need to go find her” Adam said, trying to free himself gently from Hannah but Hannah was not having any of that.

And that was how Adam missed the opportunity of being with his mate.

Brianna ran out of the party hall, tears rolling down her cheeks as she sobbed in pain.

She had been so excited since she turned eighteen, hoping to find her mate, fantasizing about the kind of life she would have with her mate, the kind of house they would build together, the number of children They would have, the specie of dog and cat they would raise.

Everything had been planned out but it was unfortunate for her that she didn't find her mate then.

Everyday, she thought about when she would find him and now.that she had found him, it turned out that he had a girlfriend

A girlfriend he was so interested in that he didn't even have that time to come acknowledge her as his mate

“My life is such a mess” Brianna whimpered, bending down in a dark and hidden alley.

With shaky hands, she brought out her phone from her pocket and phoned her father.

“Dad…can you come pick me up?” She sniveled.

Harry, who wasn't expecting such a call from his daughter, panicked “come on baby girl, tell me where you are?” He asked.

Brianna looked around and found out that she was lost, again so she sniffed and reported back to her father “I don't know Dad but it's dark and scary, in between tro big buildings”

Harry nodded his head and took his coat from the coat hanger at the door wearing it quickly “Now baby, don't move, I'm coming to get you ok” Harry whispered and ran out of the party hall.

Meanwhile, Adam was glaring at Hannah, He looked like lion which had been pissed off.

“What the f**k did you just do I'm there?” He asked, almost growling at the end of his statement

“I'm sorry Adam, I didn't know that you were about to go meet your mate, I just felt sad and decided to meet you, I guess the break up was still to sudden and I still had some delusions that we were together” Hannah explained, no more her sharp mouthed self from the other day.

“Do you know what you have actually done? The kind of misunderstanding that you have caused between my mate and I , she would probably see me as a promiscuous human being! Gosh ! What am I supposed to do now” Adam exclaimed, raking his hands through his hair.

Hannah bent her head, trying to hide the glint of excitement and satisfaction on her eyes.

“What don't I go explain to her, if I tell her that there's nothing going on between us , she would believe it faster than you telling her” Hannah offered

Adam turned and looked at her sharply.

“Are you sure?, what if she thinks….”

“I am a woman and I know how other women around me think , trust me I would be able to convince her that it was not the way she saw it” Hannah assured.

Adam let out a big grin and hugged Hannah excitedly

“Thank you Soo much, I wouldn't have known what to do if you hadn't offered to help ” he said excitedly.

Hannah patted his back, Adam didn't see the calculating and evil glint in Hannah's eyes.
