CHAPTER FIVE

Adam paced around the room worriedly, hoping for Hannah to bring back good news for him.
He didn't want one single action from Hannah to be the reason for a misunderstanding between him and his mate.
He had waited for his mate for a very long time and losing her would break him badly, just then the door swung open and a red eyed Hannah walked in.
Adam rushed towards her and held her in her hands.
“What did she say?” He asked excitedly. Hannah looked at him and shook her head.
The excitement radiating off Adam wilted off immediately.
“Why…what happened?” Adam asked .
“She doesn't want you, she wants to reject you” Hannah said, looking down on her red pointed heels.
Adam felt the world around him spinning but he still managed to ask her.
“What , is it because of what happened…I will go explain to her” he was about to leave but Hannah dragged him back.
“It's not about that, she has a boyfriend that she is deeply in love with and she isn't ready to leave him” Hannah remarked.
“She… because of that? She loves another man?” Adam cried .
“See Adam no need for you to wallow in pain, she isn't worth it, she's not worth you , she's not worth your time? She doesn't deserve you”
“You don't understand anything!” Adam yelled at her “Ever since I came of age, I have been fantasizing and thinking of my mate, what it would be like when I finally find her, my chosen person. There's a large hole in my heart and she's the only one who can fix it!” He roared.
Hannah scoffed at him “ Really?I'm I getting the whole hole in your heart sermon now? Adam Incase you have forgotten I have been there for you for a very long time , when you lost your family, I was there for you! And now you are tossing me aside just for your mate?” Hannah roared back.
“This isn't about our past relationship Hannah m, this is about my mate who is clearly about to reject me”
“No Adam this is about your selfishness, because it was your selfishness that made you break up with me because of your mate and it's also your selfishness that is making you try to cling onto someone who doesn't want you.
That girl is just 23 years old and so deep in love but confused and scared to the extent that she can't bring herself to reject you, is that not selfishness?” Hannah asked.
Adam's eyes clouded in confusion, he didn't know what to do but a part of his heart told him that Hannah was wrong,he wasn't selfish, he would sacrifice anything for anyone but wasn't sacrificing his mate.
Hannah walked to him and held his chin, looking into his face “You are an Alpha, Adam , the alpha of the strongest and largest pack in the country, you might not want to bit you need to put your people first do you hear me, haven't you always wanted to be a good leader, better than your father was?” Hannah asked in a blackmailing tone.
Adam nodded like a hypnotized person, with sad and painful eyes, he agreed.
“Ok…I'm going to reject her”
Brianna sobbed sorrowfully, while she arranged her bag.
Folding the clothes haphazardly into the box.
She didn't believe that she who was supposed to be the legal one had become a third wheel.
All her fantasies about her mate had gone down the drain like dirty and unwanted water.
“ why the f**k are you here wallowing in grief, I can't believe a fool like you is my human counterpart “ Bae said I'm an angry voice “just go up to him and force him to mate us,is it that hard” she whined.
“Don't you understand Bae, he does not want us, we are like weeds in his sight n pests!” Brianna yelled , sniffing.
“Who told you that , his cheesy ass girlfriend who is so f*****g rude, nasty and bitchy?” Bae asked “come-on girl don't tell me that you believe that s**t that girl was spouting, don't conclude things why don't you go hear from him directly” Bae suggested.
Brianna paused and thought for some minutes before agreeing
“I think that's a good idea but first of all, I'm going to pack my things and head down to his house. If it's really true that they are so deeply in love,I'm going to reject him, pack my things and leave, '' Brianna said.
Brianna walked into the large pack house she had been directed to by the enforcers patrolling around the whole pack.
Brianna sat down on a couch waiting for Adam to come downstairs so that they would talk just as the enforcers promised her but the loud sound of argument filtered into her ear from upstairs, she was a werewolf with sharp hearing so it was easy for her to pick up sounds.
It was barbie doll voice and a male voice she didn't recognize but that tantalizing smell announced who he was to her.
Brianna the ever inquisitive soul stood up from the couch and looked around, when she saw that all the enforcers had gone outside probably to continue their patrol, she nodded in satisfaction and tiptoed up the stairs.
Arriving at a door, she put her ears just in time for she to hear her mate say
“I'm going to reject her” .
Adam, who had just perceived the scent of his mate, rushed to the door and opened it and was surprised to see her standing before him with wide eyes.
He stiffened in shock and stared at Hannah who winked at him frantically to do what he had decided.
“Thank God ….you are here, I was thinking of how.. to come to your lodge” Adam stuttered.
“I, Adam Lockwood reject you Brianna Jacobs as my mate, you who was supposed to be my chosen one will no more have any more after with me”
A mournful cry escaped Brianna's lips
Mourning for the loss of the bond that she shared with her mate.
