The FBI field office in Manhattan looked like every other government building. Grey. Functional. Depressing. Sienna stood on the sidewalk outside, staring at the glass doors she'd just walked through. Behind her was three days of interrogations and statements and lawyers asking the same questions over and over. Ahead of her was nothing. No home. No family. No idea what came next. Agent Morrison had given her a card with a number to call if she needed anything. Protective custody was optional now that Lorenzo was in a maximum security holding cell awaiting trial. But the offer stood if she changed her mind. Sienna had declined. She didn't want protection. She wanted her life back. But that life was gone. Burned to ash along with everything else.
