CHAPTER 4

The meeting was done and I was simply typing the minutes of the meeting when I heard Ravi and my other colleagues enter my cabin. “Oriya aren’t you the lucky one to assist our new client Mr. Krish Khurana or should I say Mr. Hottie ?” Ravi continued teasing me with Gloria who was now sitting opposite me. 

“Oriya come on, you have to admit that our client is quiet a catch and has deep pockets as well. What else does a girl need ?” Gloria completed after looking at me. 

“Ok fine. He does look average but not my type. He is just a client so stop over hyping about him.” I awkwardly say this to make them stop. 

“Yeah right average looking. Did you look at the other engineers who accompanied him. Did you fancy anyone ?” Gloria was still pestering me with her interrogation while Ravi was just focused on my response. 

“Nopes. I’m not interested in my clients. Don’t forget I have to work with them for the next couple of months. I can’t afford more distractions”. I had almost completed with minutes of the meeting and was just about to send it when Ravi asked me “Did you have your lunch or you want me to order something ?”

Thank god now Gloria left my cabin and I replied to Ravi while sending an email “I’m planning to get subway sandwich. Are you coming with me ?” Out of sheer curtesy I asked him when I knew he already had many files to complete. 

After getting my wallet, I head down to the closest subway near the office building. I place my order and ask for extra dark chocolate cookies for Ravi. I took a seat near the window and enjoy my sandwich when I notice someone pulled the opposite chair and was sitting beside me. 

I looked up and was surprised to see the person. For a minute I was clueless of what to do so I simply give him a nod of acknowledgement and continue enjoying my coffee. I just assumed that Mr. Krish was sitting with me as probably all the other tables were occupied.  Out of curiosity I look at him  who was simply sipping his ice tea and giving me the hardest stare. 

Krish POV 

After the meeting got done I had to meet Senior Counsel who had his office in the same building. While I was about to leave the building I saw Oriya walking towards subway. Without second thought I asked my driver to wait for me and I followed Oriya.

I took a seat beside her and was just waiting for her to start the conversation but to my disappointment she just ignored me and continued eating her sandwich. I was almost going to bang on the table but suddenly she looked at me with no emotions. 

Her face was calm, it looked as if she was not bothered by my presence. I could not believe that she was giving me a silent treatment and just gave me a nod of acknowledgement. I am well known personality in the business world. With the perfect combination power and money women swoon over my feet. I can get any girl with just a smile but the one sitting beside me chose to ignore me. 

Her attitude towards me was passively igniting a fire within me. I had to get her attention so without wasting another moment I cleared my throat and said “So we meet again. I was wondering if tomorrow you could personally deliver those documents at my office. You could meet my team and get all required details for drafting”. 

She looked up at me and replied “Sure I could do that”. I was about to say something before she discourteously stood up and paced towards the exit. I followed her and before she could walk away from me I took hold of her arm and pushed her towards my car. Luckily there were not many pedestrians around to witness my actions. I slowly close the distance between us and whispered in her ears “Stop running from me. I always win the chase. Luckily you have already got my attention”. Without waiting for her reaction I quickly place a peck on her cheeks and leave her arm. She gradually moves away from me with a confused face and she replied “Stay away from me. You’re just my client nothing else”.
