CHAPTER 5

After the brief encounter with Mr Krish, our so-called irritating client I enter my cabin. I was still trying to understand what he exactly wanted from me. He is super rich and famous so why was he interested in a girl like me. Not that I am any less beautiful but he obviously has better options. 

Maybe my client is dumb ass and I should maintain my distance with him. Next time I will be well prepared to face him as I don’t plan to be his flavour of the month. If anything I need in my life it is love and not a playboy who uses me. With all these thoughts I settle in my cabin and place cookies on Ravi’s desk. 

He simply smiles at me and continues “you are the most pleasant co-worker in the office. Trust me I have seen many bitches in this firm”. He continues his rant about co-workers while I complete the rest of the files on my desk. 

I get a ping Skype from my boss who wanted to meet me before the day ends. I walk across to his cabin with my notepad and enter his cabin after a knock. He acknowledges my presence and I take a seat on the guest chair. 

“Oriya, I’m impressed with your work and so I know that you can handle our new client. You will have to send me daily reports of your work directly to me and Mr Krish. Please be careful as he is our important client and I’m expecting there shall be no mistakes from your end” 

“Yes sir I will do my best“ after responding I quickly leave the office.

Before I leave he said “Tomorrow you have to deliver the documents to Mr. Krish personally so keep them ready. Also you will be working in his office twice a week to gather information and start with the drafting”. 

I just nod my head in agreement and respond “Ok will do that”. However I didn’t know how will I face him tomorrow. I thought that Mr. Krish was not serious about the delivery of documents but now I guess I’m stuck with this duty and I cannot back out. 

Ravi enters our cabin with two cups of coffee and he said “what happened ? You look lost”. I simply tell him about the entire conversation with my boss.

“Oriya that’s great you get to work with that hottie. Do you know there are many other bitches who would kill to work in your position. I’m surprised that Boss gave you such an important client so easily. Usually he prefers more experienced lawyers to handle such important matters. Simply put you’re lucky so grab this opportunity. Trust me its going to be big for your career”.  Ravi was just motivating me which actually worked well on me. I was sipping my coffee when Gloria again entered our cabin. Sometimes I wonder if she has ever completed her work. All she simply does is gossip around the office. Gloria and Ravi continue their conversation when Gloria asked me “So what are you planning to wear tomorrow for work”. 

I was surprised at her question, I could not relate to it and I simply respond “Nothing special, the same old stuff”. Gloria was literally giving me a funny stare and she asked “wear something sexy and catch that hottie’s attention. Who knows you might be the next Mrs. Khurana. Play your cards well.” She chuckles as she leaves our cabin finally without waiting for my response. 

Ravi helped me with the document I had to deliver tomorrow and we completed our work in peace. He thankfully did not ask me anything further.
