Chapter Fourteen The lights dimmed, then suddenly a spotlight popped on and focused on a woman sitting in a chair, a guitar resting on her leg. Leaning over, her hair created a curtain between her and the crowd. A quick strum and the crowded room began clapping and cheering. Oblivious to the commotion, she started to tap out a quick tempo against the body. Laura could hear a rapid metal tapping as a woman appeared out of the darkness to the guitarist right. The quick syncopated rhythm of the guitarist and the dancer was hypnotic as they worked in unison, the beat echoing through the lofty space.
