Chapter Two

"It's my utmost pleasure to welcome all of you to this auspicious meeting,dear colleagues", Mr Ben started the meeting. "As stated in the preamble to our first meeting, our ultimate goal is to cleanse our mother Earth and recreate a world conducive to our own survival and needs, a world of superhumans, free from the current meddling miscreants. Without belaboring the point, we are all aware that each one of us was tasked with specific responsibilities towards the same. I wish therefore to welcome our Secretary, Professor Kane to update us on our standing so far. Welcome, Sir".

"Thank you,Chair. Foremost,I wish to assure us all here that the achievement of our goal is within calling distance, moreso, given the fact that we are here today to bring the last phase of our plan into action. You are aware that the plan was set out in four phases.

"A preview of the first phase and its status is desirable. In a nutshell,it encompassed diverse projects geared towards generating income while systematically checking on population increase, the development of our anti-aging factor, cloning and the development of human gametes from alternative sources other than humans. It's now common knowledge that our development of the Human-immunodeficiency virus and its subsequent deployment to the target was, and has been,quite successful not only in population control, but also in generating insurmountable income from the sale of our own manufactured ARV drugs. The paradox behind these drugs is that while they have the short term effect of prolonging life,they have hundred percent efficacy in killing the victim through toxic accumulation.

"Consequent to the foregoing,two other viruses, namely,Ebola and SARS,have been manufactured and deployed in experimental basis, though their effect was to warrant the need for our alleged vaccines. While our vaccination programs were received with a lot of success in various parts of the globe, you and me know that the said vaccines were raced with sterilization factors to check on population growth.

"Our latest creation that's currently in action is Virus Z that is doing great justice to our course. While they are taking measures to mitigate the effect of the single and slow mutating strain, they are yet to come eye to eye with our fast mutating one that we have just unleashed. Suffice it to say that the systematic extermination is on course.

"Well,the development and use of robots in everyday life cannot be overemphasized. In view of this fact,we have manufactured more than enough to cater for our needs in the near future.

"Of prime importance,am pleased to inform you that we have successfully developed the anti-aging factor, dubbed Factor X. Our field trials with some lucky, but unfortunate humans from diverse parts of the world proved quite successful. Of course we had to extinguish these nincompoops after proving that they could live indefinitely as no cell degeneration was evident in the twenty-year testing period. This Factor is therefore ready for our immediate use whenever we are ready.

"On the issue of repopulating the earth post the cleansing period,be happily informed that we have developed and established two mechanisms with hundred percent certainty. In the past, cloning was marred with non-retention of memory. However, our invention has overcome that obstacle and now the clones are as perfect as the cloned in every aspect. In fact,our colleague here,Ms Fatuma,has requested for the cloning of her late husband from a single strand of his hair accidentally preserved. In addition to this juicy discovery,we have invented the production of human gametes,both spermatozoa and ova, from a wonder plant. Of more interest is the fact that these can be manipulated through genetic engineering so as to introduce superior qualities such as enhanced intelligence, extra-sensory perception and ability to withstand high pressure,just to name but a few.

"Thus far,I would like to invite Professor Xangho Ho to take us through phase two as he is more conversant with its nitty-gritty,and is directly in charge. Welcome". He took his seat,a wide smile on his face.

"My pleasure,dear colleagues", began Professor Xangho. "As you are aware, phase two was concerned with the impediment of the human fertility rate so as to maintain an ecological balance. This was to be fulfilled through systematic sterilization projects in various parts of the third-world countries where myths led to high birthrates. In addition to the vaccines afore-cited by my colleague,we developed and deployed genetically modified insects, to be exact, mosquitoes, to various countries. The disguise given was that these mosquitoes were to fertilize the local malaria-parasite bearing ones so as to inhibit them from further reproduction since the female mates only once in it's lifetime. However, undisclosed to them was the fact that these mosquitoes and the locally neutralized ones were capable of transmitting the same effect to human beings from their bites. Our Research labs in those areas have never been busier.

"Though our initial introduction of genetically modified foodstuffs was met with some resistance, our further input in introducing crop bacterial infections created artificial starvation that resulted in speedy acceptance of our resources. Again,as you are aware,these foods have in them some engineered chemicals that trigger in the user diverse incurable cancers, ultimately serving our intended purpose.

"To this extent,I hereby beg to hand over to the chairman to appraise us on phase three which is directly under his docket".

The chairman rose, nodding his head with satisfaction from the foregoing previews. So obsessed was he with the project that those close to him had sworn that he had been heard thinking aloud in many occasions. After recognizing the previews of his predecessors with pompous congratulatory praises,he took to previewing phase three with a lot of gusto and temerity only privy to zealots.

"My colleagues, having dreamt of,and stood up to the task in terms of organizing, preparing and pooling resources,it behooves us all to stringently ensure the actualization of our august,divine mission which is creation of a new world of superheroes not encumbered with the contemporary,yet-to-evolve , suffocating human misnomers. All are aware that phase three comprise the manufacture of microchips and their embedding in the masses.

"We are all aware that the said microchips are invented with some explosive device that can be detonated by a remote, universal detonator from whichever part of the universe with instantaneous death to the bearer. So far, not only have we developed billions, but have also administered them to hundreds of millions of people and still counting. However, there are some despots in the developing world and religious demagogues who are still defying their use, not on the basis of what we know, but on the ground of some obscure prophecy contained in some archaic, historical piece of s**t called the Bible,or Koran. Nevertheless, with our increased pressure on the world governments to revolutionize their economies by embracing technology, it's only a matter of time before we move in for the kill. Additionally, be assured that whatever is left standing after the ultimate detonation will happily be taken care of by our 'friends ' in phase two.

"I will now ask Ms Fatuma to appraise us on the progress so far made in phase four. This being the final and most important part of the project to our eternity, every minute detail and effort should be ensured so as to synchronize with our schedule. From the timeline,we have exactly one month to departure. Dear Fatuma, the floor is yours".

Before she could take the chance,it was uninamously voted that a short break was desirable.
