Hot, tired and hungry, she meandered along the banks of the almost dry stream. Her tongue hung limp and dry from her mouth. Weeks without rain had depleted the natural supply of whatever water sources she"d become accustomed to using and her thirst was now almost unbearable. Whatever water remained in the stream was not only out of her each from the upper level of the bank on which she stood, but was also little more than a trickle, barley enough to get her tongue into even if she could reach it.
