Chapter 4The arrival of a new week hadn’t done much in the way of killing the heat wave. It was already in the mid-eighties at nine-thirty by the time he emerged from the subway in Lower Manhattan. Mallory had phoned last night to tell him they’d meet outside the Criminal Courts building on Centre Street, and then together they would meet with Rocky. Jimmy spent the subway ride reading the Post, where the murder of Duvan Ahkbar had been relegated to the inside pages.
