Maeve’s POV My lungs were still burning from the silver as I ran back out into the hall. Every small movement caused a wave of pain to course through my body but all of that felt like a tickle compared to the pain the speared my heart from my mate being hurt. I pumped my legs harder, forcing my body to move faster than it ever has. When I burst through the door I was overwhelmed by the smell of blood and death.
