Chapter Thirty-Eight.
When I awoke, I was in the Captain’s quarters, my face streaked with tears, the sheets wet beneath me from having cried in my sleep. I had been washed, the blood scrubbed from my skin and hair, clothes having been replaced by one of Caleb’s old shirts, he had no doubt been the one to clean me. My eyes searched the room but he was nowhere in sight, instead Blue sat perched on the armchair, naked with her knees propped up beneath her chin. I hadn’t seen her for some time, the nymph having preferred to stay in the waters that she had been exiled from during our quest to entrap Neptune. Her head tilted when she noticed me being awake, large blue eyes blinking at me, curious and questioning. But why was she there?
