I was crying, my body curling in on itself when a hand gripped my shoulder and shook me awake. It was a smooth hand but it was large and unfamiliar, startling me out of my nightmare. The cold of his touch wasn’t comforting like Neptune’s but instead it was a chilling, lifeless frost that made my skin crawl and my heart pound rapidly in my chest. I shot up on the mattress, my eyes wide, red from having cried and my cheeks stained with tear trails. The man that stood beside the bed was one I had seen before in a memory and the ballroom but he had never been that close before “Forgive me-.” he gently uttered with a tender smile plastered across his lips when he realized that I had been frightened by him.
