Evangeline. There was a weight pinning me in place against something soft and comfortable. Heat radiated onto my back, a familiar heat that caused me to stir. I knew where I was and who I was with without even having to open my eyes but when the smell of blood struck my nose, I shot upright, tired eyes blinking to adjust to the late afternoon light. I gazed down at the white sheets which were stained in blood, streaked red with the substance and then I looked to Caleb. Ruby smears littered his chest and arms, thick dried scabs of blood.
