NATHAN’S POV
Terra cried until it drained her energy. No amount of soothing words I said could calm her down. I guess all this while she had been too shocked to actually register how grave the situation was to her and seeing his shoe must have triggered the need to see him because, cause at some point she picked the shoe from where I dropped it and hugged it to her chest too.
I tried comforting her how best I could and in the end, I just had to keep shut and let her cry after realizing that was the only way she was going to get things off her chest. What actually got her to stop crying was the fact that Luke started to cry too after so many questions and no answer was given to him.
I could tell the two kids, though still so young were so shaken by the reality of seeing their mother cry
