Zachary had gone home to change into a suit, so he’d look more respectable and less like he was there for an illicit affair. How the hotel staff viewed him was important it was often the only thing keeping them from calling the police. Not that he was ever taken for what he was, but it was still better to dress for success. Women paid more for him because he was sophisticated and clean.
He walked through the hotel headed for the desk with roses in his hand. It was a nice enough hotel but not the upscale kind of place he was accustomed too. This was a business hotel meant for businessmen and tradespeople. He checked the paper Jordon had given him when he reached the desk. He asked for the extra room key and thanked the woman at the desk then got onto the elevator and pressed the floor button correspondent to the room number.
Zachary found the right room and took a breath and put on his game face. He knocked first then slid the key into the lock and pushed the door open letting himself in. It was a suite not a room with a separate bedroom and a living space with couch, coffee table, and TV. The room was dark lit by candles with a bottle of whisky and two shot glasses on the coffee table. Zachary looked around, but he was alone.
He shut the door and tossed the keycard on the coffee table. “Hello?” He called out. He heard movement in the bedroom. Taking a step toward the bedroom, he stopped when Brianna appeared in the doorway wearing nothing but a dark blue silk negligee. Her hair was loose, and her eyes were smouldering. Her ruby red lips curved in a smile. Zachary was speechless. He didn’t have a clue what to say. He had so many questions, but his mind and mouth weren’t working in unison.
Brianna came to the short distance to him and twisted the fabric of his tie around her hand and pulled him down so her mouth could meet his in a hungry kiss. He should have protested, he should have demanded answers, but the excitement that spiked in him clouded his mind, and he wrapped his arms around Brianna and held her against him. His mouth ate at hers as he held the roses at her back. His mouth moved down over her neck, and he heard Brianna snicker. “Easy, we got all night.” She whispered. “How about a drink.” She said prying herself from his embrace. She stepped back and looked at the flowers in his hand. “Are those for me?” She asked sweetly. “How charming.” She took the flowers and placed them on the coffee table.
She’d bent over to pour them each a shot of whisky, and his eyes fell to her bottom, and he felt himself grow stiff in response. She looked so good, and he was feeling the effects. He came up behind her grabbing her hips he pulled her back, so her bottom was nestled snug against him.
Brianna giggled and pushed him away then offered him the shot glass in her hand. He shot it back and tossed the empty on the couch. He reached out and grabbed Brianna once more, and she slapped his hand away. “If you don’t behave I’ll be forced to restrain you.”
His mouth curved in a wicked smile. Her threat was appealing. “And how are you going to do that? I’m bigger than you.” Zachary took her by the waist and lifted her off her feet making her squeal. He carried her into the bedroom and tossed her onto the bed. “I think we need to revisit which one of us will be running the show.” He said removing his tie. He wasn’t a submissive person, when it came to games Zachary preferred to dominate.

The tides were turning quickly. She had intended to be strong and in control but by the look in his eye he had other ideas. She lay on the bed as he removed his tie then he knelt on the bed and pushed her back against the mattress and tied the tie around her wrists firm but not painful. He then tied the other end to the headboard forcing her arms up over her head.
He smiled smugly at her and then left the room and returned with the whisky bottle and a rose. He took a shot from the bottle and placed both on the nightstand next to the bed. Brianna watched as Zachary slowly took his clothes off making a show of it for her sake. Stripped down and fully erect he pushed her knees apart and crawled between her legs. He leaned over and brushed his lips over hers teasingly.
Zachary reached over and picked up the rose he’d brought in and grazed her forehead with the tip of the soft petals. She closed her eyes as he slowly dragged the flower down her face. Over her nose and her parted lips then down over her neck and between her breasts. The silky petals felt sinfully provocative against her skin. His mouth followed the path of the rose down her body drawing closer and closer to the junction between her thighs.
She watched as he took the silk fabric of her panties and skilfully pulled them down her legs followed by a trail of feather-light kisses. She giggled when he got them off and tossed them aside with an evil smirk. Zachary tossed the rose on the bed next to them climbed off the bed fetching a condom from his pants. She watched as he tore the package open and rolled the latex on. He returned to the bed. He took Brianna behind the knee and pulled her legs around his waist.
He entered her quickly, and Brianna let out a satisfied sigh. He always felt so good. He took her with haste pressing deep inside her with each powerful thrust. Brianna felt like she was losing her mind as she wrapped her fingers around the tie pulling on the fabric unable to move, she was at the mercy of his desire.
Zachary continued his seductive assault on her senses. He leaned over her and kissed her neck and nibbled on her earlobe moaning sweet words in her ear that made her tremble. She could take it no more. She pulled on the tie and begged him to free her. She wanted to touch him, but he wouldn’t untie her. Soon his body began to tremble as he reached climax and brought her to completion at the same time.
He dropped onto the bed next to Brianna catching his breath. Brianna looked up at her wrists and cleared her throat as she watched him dispose of the condom. He chuckled and reached up freeing her from her bonds. Brianna sighed and rolled on to her side slipping into his arms and resting her head on his shoulder. “Well, that wasn’t how I planned it.” She grinned.
“Yeah, well I’m a bit of a control freak.” He confessed. “Why did you do this?”
“I wanted to make up for the fight last night.”
“How’d you get Jordon involved?”
“I asked nicely. I’m just glad it worked.”
“You know I should be working right now.”
Brianna frowned. “Are you saying you’d rather be elsewhere than here with me?”
“No.” He said looking down at her. “There is no place I’d rather be.” Zachary sighed and then moved Brianna from his arms and rolled onto his side to look her in the eye. “I want to say I’m sorry about last night. My family is a little screwed up, but I shouldn’t have abandoned you at the hospital. I’m good with the physical aspects of a relationship but really bad at the emotional stuff.”
Brianna placed her hand alongside his face and smiled. “We’ll figure it out.” He placed his hand over hers and turned his face to kiss the palm of her hand. She rolled on to her back and picked up the whisky bottle from the nightstand. She lifted the bottle to her lips and took a big swig then offered it to him. Zachary reached for the bottle, but Brianna tipped it slightly and poured it on herself letting the cool liquor slid down her neck and the valley between her breasts. Zachary laughed at her obvious setup and then leaned over and ran his tongue over her body lapping up the whisky before playfully nipping at her neck. They had all night and Brianna intended to use every moment.

The alarm on Brianna’s phone started buzzing, and Zachary rolled over on to his back as Brianna reached for the phone clumsily to turn it off. He’d spent the night and held her while they slept. He’d never spent the night with any woman, but he had to admit holding Brianna had been nicer than holding his pillow. He’d never realized it, but he liked to cuddle. “It’s time to check out.” She groaned and dropped her head back on the pillow.
Zachary shot up like a jack in the box and startled Brianna. “Check out?” He gasped, and then he grabbed the clock on the nightstand as if unable to believe it was eleven. “Oh hell.” He said getting out of bed. He never stayed until check out for him he usually left in the early morning but he’d burnt the moonlight away with Brianna and had fallen asleep. He’d told himself he wasn’t going to stay long. Just long enough to rest his eyes and then he’d leave, but he’d stayed much longer.
“What’s wrong?” Brianna asked watching him jump out of bed and snatched up his clothes. He yanked on his pants and grabbed his shirt.
“I am so late.” He said slipping his arms in the sleeves.
“Late for what?” She asked sitting in the bed alone looking as good as sin.
Zachary cringed. “I’d rather not say.” He said buttoning up his shirt and pulling on his jacket.
“Oh.” Her smile was gone, and the most disappointed look claimed her pretty face. That look made him feel terrible. He could understand how she felt, but it didn’t change what he knew he had to do. Brianna climbed out of bed and picked up his tie. She came over and wrapped it around his neck popping his collar she began to tie it for him.
“Are you angry?” He asked as her fingers worked the knot. She shrugged her shoulders as if trying to pretend like it didn’t bother her as much as it did. His hands came up and took hers holding her hands to his chest. “They mean nothing; you know that, right?” She lowered her eyes and nodded her head. He took her chin in his hand and tilted her face up to his. “Give me a smile before I go.”
The corners of her lips turned upward in a forced smile. Zachary kissed her lips and then released her and headed for the door.
He stopped at the door and then turned around and came back. “Dinner?” He suggested. “My place… tonight.”
Brianna grinned. “Yeah ok.”
Happy to be leaving her with a smiled Zachary left the suite and ran down the fire stairs and out the front door to his Jag. He rocketed across town to Malibu to Amelia’s house. He stopped briefly to grab flowers and candy to apologize for being so late. He’d promised to be at her house first thing in the morning. Her husband had gone away on a business trip, and she had three uninterrupted days to spend with him. She’d wanted to go to the beach and do some shopping, and she’d wanted him to go with her.
He knocked on the door wishing he’d had the time to clean up. The door opened, and Amelia glared back at him. Her arms crossed over her chest. She wasn’t happy. He had some sucking up to do. “Baby you look great.”
“Don’t baby me. You are four hours late.”
He had to think quickly. “I can explain.”
“Oh, good because I would like to hear what you have to say.”
“Can I come in? Or do you want the neighbours to see us fight?” She stepped aside, and he entered the house. He offered her the flowers, and she snatched them from his hand and walked away. “You look like a wreck I assume you haven’t seen your bed, though you surely saw someone’s bed.”
He sighed, she was jealous. “It’s not like that.” He lied. Suddenly he saw an opportunity. “I spent the night in the hospital.” He fibbed with a heartbroken look.
She turned around and looked surprised. “Are you ok?” She asked with concern.
“I’m fine. Just terribly worried. My kid sister is in the intensive care unit.” He said honestly. Her jaw dropped, and she rushed back to his side. He put on a sad face pretending like he was trying not to cry. “I’m sorry this isn’t your concern I don’t want to burden you.”
“No, you come in.” She said walking him to the couch and sitting him down. “You tell me what happened.”
“Unfortunately, my sister has a problem with drugs. She owes a drug dealer a lot of money, and he beat her half to death.” He turned his face away from her. “She’s fighting for her life as we speak. But even if she survives, she’ll still be a target for as long as she owes the money.” He hung his head. “I wish there was something I could do to help protect her. So, if she wakes up, I can tell her she’s safe. I want to protect her.”
“Of course, you do because you’re a good a person.” She said brushing his dark hair out of his eyes. “How much does she owe?”
“Fifteen hundred dollars.”
Amelia got up and fetched her purse. She took out five hundred dollars and gave it to him. “I can write you a cheque for the rest.”
“Drug dealers don’t take cheques.” He said.
“Of course, they don’t. You know what we’ll go to the bank and get you the money. Then I’ll take you out for lunch. And maybe we’ll stop at a shop and buy you a fresh new suit.” She suggested.
Zachary smiled at her. “You are just the greatest.” It was too easy. He should be ashamed that he could take this giving woman to the cleaners but he wasn’t he was so jaded by life it didn’t bother him as it should.
They swung by the bank and then went shopping and stopped to eat. He spent the afternoon with Amelia and then explained that he had to pay his sister’s debt and that he didn’t want her to come with him because he didn’t want her to get hurt.
Zachary was running late again, but he had to take care of business before he went home to Brianna and Eliza. He parked his car at the beach and took a taxi to East LA where he knew Addie got her drugs. It wasn’t the first time he’d had to bail her out. He told the driver to wait outside the house with the bars on the windows and door.
He walked up the sidewalk. The grass was brown, and it was mostly weeds and dirt with a low rider parked on the lawn. Zachary knocked on the door and waited. The door cracked open, and a big nasty Mexican gangbanger eyed him. “I need to talk to Jesus.” He said.
The man unlocked the screen door and stepped aside to let Zachary in. The place was a dive. There were drugs and guns everywhere, and some half-naked woman was laying on the floor tripping out, but no one did anything. Zachary stepped over the woman and looked at the man he’d come to see. Jesus was a tall man with his hair buzzed short beneath his black bandana with a soul patch on his chin. His eyes were dark and cold, and he was covered in tattoos.
“Well if it isn’t my man Zac,” Jesus said with a happy grin. “I love when you visit.” He said lifting his cigarettes to his mouth. “It’s always like Christmas.”
Zachary tossed the money on the coffee table at Jesus’ feet. “There’s your damn money. Now leave my sister alone.”
“I’m a good-hearted man; you want me to turn her away when she’s hurting? She begs me to take her in.”
“You know she can’t pay you.” Zachary snapped.
“Yeah, I know.”
“So, stop selling to her.”
“I know she can’t pay, but I know she’s got a big brother that can always be counted on.”
“This is the last time. I’m not paying you anymore.” Zachary growled.
Suddenly the big guy beside Zachary punched him in the head, and he fell against the wall behind him. Zachary shook the blow off. “Don’t you raise your voice to me in my house.” Jesus snarled, and the man kicked Zachary in the ribs winding him. Jesus leaned forward bracing his elbows on his knees and glaring at Zachary who was cradling his aching ribs. “This is how it’s going to work.” He said flicking his ashes in a beer can. “Because I like you so damn much; I’m going to let you walk out of here, but you are going to keep paying, and if you don’t, I’m not only going kill your sister, I will pay her pretty little daughter a visit at school and take the debt out of her hide. So, I suggest if you don’t want that precious little girl to get hurt you’ll keep the money flowing and show some f*****g respect.”
Zachary looked up but didn’t say a word. He believed Jesus would do just what he said he would. Zachary painfully picked himself up off the floor and turned to leave. He walked out the door listening to the men inside laughing at him. He would have loved to bust their heads, but he wasn’t a fighter. He didn’t stand a chance, so he slunk away like a coward.
