41 13 July My Dearest Matthew, Our hearts fillest with joy. Her Majesty, Queen Mary, has borne a bairn this fine day. Your sister, Mary, was there to witness the birth and she reports the healthy boy-child came into the world with lusty wails and vigorous waving of limbs. A nursemaid has arrived, and we anticipate the baby will be named and baptized before the Sabbath arrives again. I am grateful, my son, for the few pounds that have made their way to your Mum. Best wishes on your graduation (I was pained that I was not able see this) and I wish you well in your internship. We are in need of such services here in our bountiful city and I pray you can see your way to return home. I might like to visit, but my bones have become weary and the cough I had all winter has not abated. With
