"The Queen wishes to see you." The attendant found me right away in the garden, my usual hiding spot. I should have known peace wouldn't last here. The summons came just after breakfast. I had hoped for a little time to myself now that things were calmer.
My stomach immediately twisted, and even Bey stirred uneasily inside me. "This feels dangerous." She said in my head.
"I know."
The attendant escorted me through the eastern wing of the palace. The corridors were quiet as security drones drifted through the sky like silver birds.
Warriors patrolled every balcony now and ever since the attack, security is tighter, and everyone is more watchful.
