POV: Caleb I found her in the same corridor two days later, alone, a rag still in one hand and an expression on her face like she was doing sums that refused to add up properly. She saw me before I could decide whether to announce myself, and for a moment neither of us said anything; the same wounded silence during the linen delivery remained hanging between us.
