Someone screamed. "Gina!" My knees struck the cold stone floor first. The pain barely registered before darkness swept over my vision like black ink spilling across paper. The last thing I heard before my consciousness disappeared was Bey's frightened whisper: "We're breaking..." It was as though molten silver had replaced my blood. Something beneath my skin clawed desperately to get out. Bey. "Enough!" The growl didn't come from outside. It came from inside my own soul. I floated somewhere between dreams and reality. The familiar silver lake stretched endlessly before me, and moonlight danced across perfectly still water. Standing at the center was Bey. She no longer looked like a shadow. She looked...real. Tall.
